Narration is great. Control is weird, and everything is so slippery...

After I understand how the gameplay works, I think there is potential in it. I think many players will be confused by all the different planets and plants. I think start with one planet and a few plants, or get rid of the alternative plant thing, so that the player has fewer things to understand at first and gradually add these in.
Great start for your first game. I like the different underground biomes. I feel like the gameplay system is a bit weak. If I were you, I would add a time limit, the player is force to return to the ground after time run out, and the player can sell the stuff they got and buy upgrades to allow them dig faster and deeper, until reaching the final room.
I instead of having both 2D and 3D, focus on just one, unless there is a strong connection between them. The 2D platformer is okay, but 3D is not good. So just focus on one and make it really good(like adding audio)
The next step is to have a strong connection with theme. What makes a place strange? Maybe blocks can have special function, like red floor makes you jump lower and green floor make you jump higher, and you can make some fun level base on this concept.
I think you can highlight the object by doing some similar to what I did in my game. I asked ChatGPT for the shader

Very well polished game with good core gameplay loop. I especially like the ship's movement effects. I think a problem is the player gets radar upgrade a bit late. Until then, I thought there is only one planet. Another things some of the upgrade are not very usefull, like the movement related ones.

The gameplay loop for the vampire survivor is good. I notice that many spells are called 'unnamed spells. Also, after I die and return to the main menu, it gets stuck on a weird screen. You probably just ran out of time, which is understandable.
I think one thing to work on is your theme; try to have a deeper connection between your gameplay and theme.
