Some of these bugs are probably only happening on the web version for whatever reason... Seems like the game is much more unstable on browsers, specially chromium based (judging from other feedback I've heard). Should work better in the other versions.

In speficic, the bugs related to losing MP and the earth spell's mechanic not working I'm sure are all related, it appears that the game is having issues with the triggers for these effects.

About balancing & other comments:

  • Sun & Moon Fish. Poor guys seems like I'm never able to properly balance them lol. I've reworked / nerfed this fight many times but it seems I haven't yet reached a good spot for it. I'll keep that in mind.
  • You can actually turn any selected character using WASD / Arrow keys! Also, just hovering hover a spell also turns your character, so you don't need to use a spell to turn to a desired direction.
  • I think Burn and Poison might differentiate themselves more once I add more spells for each. In the end though, I think I'm fine with them being similar.
  • I'll probably make it so if you have at least one new spell after a fight / shop, the spellbook opens automatically so you don't forget to equip anything. (Maybe also make this something you can turn off on the options)
  • On a general note about difficulty, I appreciate the comments about what might be too hard for the base game, it helps to inform me what should be moved to the hard mode (whenever I implement it)

Anyway, thank you so much for taking out the time to write all this down! It helps a lot!

hey, if you could detail any bugs you found whenever you have the time, it would help out a lot!

first off, thanks for taking the time to write all that! It helps me out a lot!

About a tutorial, I definitely intend on making a detailed ingame tutorial in the future. For now though, I think I'll do what you suggested on having an image describing how to play, at least.

About monster behaviour, their (current) attacks are indicated on the bottom icons, hovering over them showcases their range (or specific area that will be hit), and their number represent the damage they will deal. Though that is another thing that needs to be explained in a future tutorial.

I have a bit of resistance when it comes to making an ingame encyclopedia... Feels to me like it could be a waste of dev-time on something that most people won't bother to check. Still, I think you raise good points, I'll consider it for the future.

One last thing, yeah audio will be added, I don't plan on the game being silent.

also, another question: could you say which moment(s) killed you by surprise?

noted. the game did have a checkpoint system before, but it could be a bit buggy, so i decied to disable it for now but ill probably reenable it later, after making sure it works correctly, at least on normal mode.

about selections, only the grid cells themselves are used, not the sprites, but i think i have a way to implement something like you mentioned either way (just probably not for now)
