You bring up very good points; the grappling hook is indeed rigid-body based infact it is based on a sequence of  pin joints, which took a long time to implement, so sadly when i realized that is was a bit janky we had no time to re-implement it in a more deterministic fashion. i was hoping to more of a spiderman swining feel but alas. 

If i every come around to fixing the swing, i will for sure try to implement your suggestions ๐Ÿ™‚

And if you really dare to look at the code you are welcome, just be aware it is a hot bowl of jam spaghetti ๐Ÿ˜‚

It seems that you are using rigidbodies without turning them kinematic, but with very low gravity? Is the character intended to slowly fall? if not maybe try turning it kinematic and using movePosition
