It was a bit hard for me to understand how the code puzzle worked, but anyway, congratulations on the game.

Eeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhh, I’m speechless, what an awesome atmosphere, the best I’ve tried so far. It fits the theme perfectly.

Ever since I saw your messages on Discord, I thought, “I want to try this and see what comes out of it,” and I have to tell you , great job.

Rated nice job :)

I really like what you’ve created with the game, I think you’ve managed to generate that sense of anxiety with the whole bullet mechanic. Maybe I’d make exploration a bit faster, but overall, great job.

Rated good game :)

Great game! The maze could use an enemy that chases you to make it more interesting, but it’s really cool.

have fun :)) https://paxcu.itch.io/overlook-inn

Your game idea is really cool.

Your game idea is really cool.

The idea is cool, but I find it quite difficult to aim. A crosshair could be a good addition.

It’s cool, but I think the easy and hard modes are very unbalanced compared to each other. In hard mode it was reaaaally difficult for me to kill an enemy, while in easy mode it only takes one shot.

And I’m not sure if it’s intentional, but in easy mode if I keep the mouse button pressed, I shoot faster and faster (which isn’t a bad thing), though in my opinion it feels a bit strange since the sound of each shot overlaps and ends up hurting your ears.

But anyway, good job for this week!

I love the atmosphere that’s created in the office, and the “work” you have to do makes everything feel strange. Congratulations.

It confused me a bit at first, honestly. I think it could be really helpful to be able to go back and look at the room again, which would make it easier to find the differences but great job, congratulations!

Now it works (I’ve already rated it)

Rated :). I’ll share it with my jam teammates so they can rate it for you.

First of all, congratulations on finishing the game in just one week! I played through the whole thing, and I think the style you’re going for is really cool. However, the spikes should look more threatening, at the start, I didn’t realize several times that they were spikes.

At first, it took me a little while to get the hang of it, but then I couldn’t stop playing until I finished. I think a bit of polish on the collisions so the dirt blocks don’t stop the bullets would make it even better. Great job for just one week!

Let me know when you have it ready and I’ll play it

Hi, I downloaded the Windows build but I can’t play it. I get an error when trying to run it. Any idea what might be wrong?

Loved the running and movement, and the fireball is really fun, though the cooldown/self-damage feels tricky. The visuals are nice, but the forcefield is a bit distracting.

Gameplay sometimes feels conflicting between running and attacking, and the dash doesn’t feel too impactful yet.

Overall, really fun and something to be proud of! Could go more into runner style or combat-focused for future builds.

Did you put them on the correct door? The door that’s alone didn’t open?

I was blown away by the menu, I honestly wasn’t expecting something like that. The tutorial too, it’s super well made. The typewriter sounds are god-tier. Great job!
