this is a LOVELY little app - great for meditation and zoning out and pure vibes. a very "teenage engineering" experience. thank you for making it!!

I reported this game a week ago and it's still up. Maybe if more people report it? The "Report" link is in tiny font at the bottom of this page.

Sideloading for this and Mum's the Word both return an error: "Could not find a top-level .pdx file."

Another World's combat wasn't turn-based, though. I haven't played this yet, but it seems much more strategy-based, and probably completely different in feel and gameplay. I'm intrigued! I'd consider this an homage to a classic, but definitely not a clone.

After eyeing this for a while, the current discount made me finally take the plunge. As someone who grew up with games like King's Quest, Space Quest, and Black Cauldron, this game was a pure shot of nostalgia and warmth for me. Thank you for creating it! I hope you make more with this engine, it's very slick.

Having grown up with the Zork trilogy on my home computer, but never exploring much of the text adventure world outside of that - this is total catnip for me. Not only is it giving me strong nostalgia, but it's seriously compelling and deep gameplay on this tiny, humble device. The menu-based UX works way better than I would have expected. Bravo!

I've done a few puzzles on this already, and I can confirm it's amazing. I'm going to sink SO MUCH TIME into crosswords on the Playdate. It's a perfect form factor in my hands, I can carry it everywhere in my pocket, and there's no distracting notifications nor temptation to google for answers like with a phone app. Thanks for making a killer app for this handheld.

Cool! I'm happy to create my own reading of it, and it's probably best if you don't over-explain IMO :)

I did get both endings (at least the "knife" vs. "walk away" ones - you helpfully provided the ability to replay the final sequence). I did not think to water Chuck though!

I don't think I've ever been as engrossed in a Playdate game as I was with this one for its running time. It's impressive what you've done with atmosphere and setting using the Pulp engine.  I was a ball of stress (in a good way). The writing and dialogue - top-notch. It reminded me of Silent Hill 2 and a smidge of Lynch and also reminded me I need to watch Jacob's Ladder soon. I also wouldn't be surprised if this is based on some real-life hospital experiences because it completely nailed the feeling of some recent ones in my life (including my wife's post-op from back surgery, where the nurses almost made her OD by mixing drugs they shouldn't have. Yeesh)

Really hoping you use some of what you've learned and built here to make another game in this vein. I didn't want this to be over, I wanted to go deeper into the muck... actually I might replay as I'm a bit dense and the ending went over my head, ngl.

Awesome, looking forward to digging into 1.1!

Also I've been using this app with a number of my own custom decks now. Works great!

Hold on, now I might understand upon trying it out some more.

The problem isn't the crank direction. The crank direction fits the animation. The problem is that the animation doesn't make sense to me. One card is lifted up to reveal another card lying under it, right? That card lying under it should be the NEXT card in the sequence. Instead it's the PREVIOUS card.  So I'll be on card 39, and it gets lifted up to reveal the card under it, which is card 38. That makes no sense to me, it should be card 40.

This is completely brilliant! Thank you for releasing it.

My only issue upon first use is the way the crank operates: I turn the crank in the direction that feels natural for me to go forward in the card order, but instead it goes backward. Perhaps we have different intuitions about this? I think this could be corrected with an option to invert the crank direction.

Oh, and is there a list mode that lists all the decks and lets you select from them? I didn't see one but it would be nice.
