There are no differences to the 2004 release. I recommend to play it with keyboard. It's better to control the player sprite.

The sound is intended this way. The new version will also have better sound.

I'm on to code a updated and much more playable version right now. With new caves and new game mechanics.

vielen Dank fürs Spielen und die gute Kritik trotz der Mängel! ;-)

Die Steuerung ist eigentlich eher für das Spielen mit Tastatur ausgelegt. Mit Joystick sicher eher "schwierig". Das wurde schon von anderen Spielern bemängelt. 
Vielleicht programmiere ich eine neue Version mit besserer Steuerung in den kommenden Monaten. Dazu muss ich mich in den Code einfinden - ist ja doch schon zwanzig Jahre her...  

Info: beim aufsammeln einer Schatzkiste passiert zufällig folgendes:
- ein Geist verfolgt dich (durch das Laufen an den Rand in einen anderen Screen verschwindet er wieder)
- ein Pfeil wird in deine Richtung abgeschossen
- zu erhälst ein Leben
- du wirst unsichtbar/unverwundbar

Diese drei kleinen Dinger neben dem Diamanten unten rechts sind Zaubersprüche für "Invisibility". Den Zauberspruch kann man mit er Taste "i" aktivieren.

I checked already the code files. I was surprised that I coded it with a old assembler called Hypra-Ass directly on the VICE emulator. That's why the code files are crap and I don't get into the game logic anymore. It will be easier to write it again because it's not a complicated game. 

To be honest I love that kind of games and that's why I guess I will write it again witha much better movement and other updates.

The new ones starting by 1 till 14. You have to choose 2 for "endgame" for the new levels. If you choose 1 you can play the old ones only.

I know what you mean. Maybe I will work on it to change the controls. But it's oooold - 20 years ago... I have to get my brain back into this code. May be it will take five miniutes or five weeks! hahaha

Now I'm on Underland and it takes a lot of time.

Understood. The thing is that I only play it by keyboard controls. Never played it with joystick. As I was a teenager I always played with joystick but since the PC took over I play keyboard only and also code my games with keyboard control. So be warned: all my games are for keyboard gaming. The joystick control is only a side effect. Sorry that you are having a bad experince...

Play it with VICE. I always use it for development my games. GREAT cover! Love it!

yes, that's Spelunker. It's difficult - terrible difficult. But today you can play on emulator with savestate. So it's much easier. As I played it as teeanger I only managed to enter the second stage of Spelunker. 

Have a look at "Spelunker" on the C64 ;-) I love that game! Played it four hours, weeks... hahaha

It was a lot of work - too much. I stopped programming it 20 years ago. But I just started again a few days ago. Maybe I'll be able to stick with it this time.

Thanks for your support! Jump Man/Spring Vogel was one of my first games I played on C64. I typed it out of the 64'er magazine. Loved it and created a lot of levels. It's ooo long ago.

I programmed the game for keyboard only and implemented the joystick movement later because of suggestion of a tester. To ber honest it drove me nuts to implement it afterwards...  hahaha

yes, possible. But it makes it harder to play to be honest. The movement gets much more tricky with that. Believe me you won't to have it like that.
