ARMOR works like shields in that it will negate an amount of damage equal to it's number. If a Panther with 6 ARMOR is hit and the damage rolled is 7, then it will only take 1 damage, dropping it's HP from 12 to 11. However, if it's hit by a Blizzard gun turret projectile which has AP 7 rounds (Armor Piercing), and the damage rolled is also 7, then the armor piercing rounds would negate 7 from the Panther's 6 ARMOR, meaning it sliced right through and hit the Panther hard, dropping it's HP from 12 to 5. Unlike shields which have to periodically restore, ARMOR stays the same until a unit is destroyed.
