I think you could do just about any environment and this would work.
If you've seen the movie "The Thing" doing something along a similar vein where you're isolated in an arctic environment with no way to contact society would be super cool. Or if you've seen the game "Soma" doing something where you're stuck along the bottom of the ocean would be terrifying as we don't know what's down there, so you can expand upon the terror of the unknown.
Overall, you have a great style and I look forward to seeing what you do in the future.
I played this as a part of a 3 scary games and I have to say I really enjoyed this VHS horror experience. This game starts at 21:34.
Okay first thoughts, the ambiance was fantastic. I enjoyed that there were no overt jump scares. This game fully relied on the environment and sound design to get the general unease across.I understand nothing about the ascension, but by keeping an eye out for the readable documents and the story starts to unravel a little more while raising more questions.
Overall, I loved this experience and am looking forward to trying to find more like it to play.
I played this as part of a 3 scary games and overall I think it was fantastic even though I didn't realize it was a demo at first. Will be looking forward to the full game when it comes out. Starts at 1:12.
So first and foremost the art style is fantastic. The colors chosen and the VHS effects really add to the ambiance. Though I do have to say that the fast forward in the game is really unsettling. Not sure why but it really made me spooked.Though I do have to say the last part of the demo trying to find the stairs was really difficult. For whatever reason I kept going in circles.
I don't have a lot more to say about this demo, I didn't really understand the story but visually I really enjoyed all of it.
I played this game as part of a 3 scary games moon edition video and I have to say this one was pretty great as short as it was. This game starts at 54:00 in the video.
Starting out I chose this game initially because it has moon in the name. Going into indie games I like to be as blind as possible so I don't know what to expect. I started this game knowing that it had something to do with Apollo, but that was about it.
I also really enjoyed the sort of "forced" perspective by having the helmet as a static border around the game as we ran around the moon. It limited the FOV but it also really added to the suspense in my opinion.
~SPOILER~
I really enjoyed when the alien cut off communication with Houston and was using their voice to try and get us to stay where we are. Like that was super uncomfortable and such a great way to help build the unease. Plus the music, really added to the terror of being chased there at the end watching the counter go down as the alien got closer.
~SPOILER OVER~
Overall, I highly recommend this game as it really built the terror in a short amount of time.
Timestamps are in the description of the video. No matter what I do I can't get the chapters to work. As for why I enjoy doing the 3 scary games, its more for me than the viewers. I love playing these games but I hate doing short videos (i also can't do scary to often so I want to get it all done at once for my nerves) because it makes me feel like I have to force myself to speak rather than just letting the conversation happen naturally. And yeah, I do it partially because it was popular but I'm still learning who I am as a creator and I personally love watching 3 scary games so I want to create content that I love to watch. But overall thanks for the criticism, I really enjoy getting it as it helps me better figure out what works and what I could work on.
As for the feedback on the games, I'm definitely working on articulating my thoughts more. I'm still pretty new to YouTube so just learning as I go.
