I finally got out and I just ended up struggling despite the low progress per struggle because I kept trying to get them to use my mouth and they kept refusing

I tried to put my head in the stocks out of curiosity but then i got stuck and eventually somebody came and put ankle cuffs on me which hindered my ability to break out of the stocks so I spent several minutes just resting and struggling while only making around 2% of progress on a good hit, then once i was at 33% left somebody came to help and i got unlucky so it added 60% to the progress bar setting the progress up to 93%, then once i got it down to 73% somebody else came along and i got unlucky again and 30% got added bringing it to 100% and sending me right back to square one, and the ankle cuffs that are causing this can't be struggled off, i need to "receive choking 6 times" and i have no idea how to get choked,  i'm sure this game would be great if i can get past this endless loop of torment but with my current knowledge it seems impossible
