Hi! Just a heads-up: you don't need to ask itch.io for more space.
You can upload builds much larger than 1 GB using Butler, the official upload tool provided by itch.io. According to the official documentation, Butler supports builds up to 30 GB.
I thought I'd mention it in case it helps.
