ty for playing but how did you manage to trigger like every single bug in the game what 😭????? anyways glad you enjoyed tho!

// spoiler warning for those just scrolling the comments!!!!//

tysm!!! and sorry about the ending seeming unsatisfying, i can't do anything to change your perception on it but i am gonna try to explain my thought process as it was intentional! basically throughout the entire game its being built up that like this is august's computer, something happened to him, you're playing as parker investigating the computer, you learn about their relationship, something is trying to stop you, yadda yadda. from your perspective, you're helping parker find closure, you're searching desperately for an answer that could ease his grief. while from the anomalys perspective (hopefully you read that massive boring school paper), it being a manifestation of nostalgia, its desperately trying to protect the last pocket of august's legacy untouched by his disappearance. neither side is technically in the right or wrong, but both sides represent unhealthy ways of dealing with grief. so when you get to the ultimate file simply titled "KEEP",  having it actually contain an answer to what happened to august or something that would be worth preserving would go against the entire message i was trying to make. anyways sorry this got a little incoherent, i tend to ramble but still, ty for playing my game and im glad you enjoyed!

super nice 3d platforming game with creative movement! only problem i had was the mouse wasnt fixed so i was working with a fairly limited range of view

tysm for playing but the game wasn't meant to be cozy, like at all😭if you haven't, please try to play the full game!! like 99% of it is hidden behind the first password puzzle-

woah this is so impressive!!!! the gear mechanic is super cool, visuals are great, and the music is fire!! great job!

super impressive for a first jam entry ever!! gameplay is simple but fun, and the game feel/juice is really great! movement could be a bit more momentum based but thats just a nitpick. nice job!

simple game with incredible polish! visuals like super nice and clean, music's good, and the gameplay is fun- no complaints!

super charming game with a nice story! only gripe i have is i wish clicking finished the textbox first rather than jumping to the next line of dialogue

really simple but polished game! visuals fit perfectly and the gameplay is super fun

aww sorry to hear that xP! i encourage you to try to complete it but if it's really too difficult here's a video of someone playing the full thing at around the 4:24:30 mark!

cool game! only complaint i have is the movement feels a little slow. nice job!

pretty standard shooter game but it does everything super well! ended up downloading the windows version cause i realized shop didn't work in web, so i do with there was a way to skip the intro but thats just a nitpick.

great platformer with really nice visuals! the regular jump feels a little too fast but the flying's great!

super nice game feel/juice, fun gameplay, and the visuals are great too!! i do think i could use a slightly clearer indicator for the cooldown being over but thats just a nitpick. great job!

ty goat you won me a $5 bet

love the concept and the visuals are super charming but my reaction time is way to horrible for this :sob: still great job tho i had fun!

really nice game and concept despite being a bit rough around the edges- had a lot of fun! (the punch aim feels a little weird tho)

Honse 3 The Joust! saved my loveless marriage, nulled my crippling debt, and healed my incurable sea scurvy.

no worries, and if you have time please try to complete the full game!

yooooo someone got the reference!!!!? funnily enough, originally during early stages of development there was actually supposed to be a second clippy style anomaly like the lil gourdguy, with them representing 2 different unhealthy ways to cope with grief but he was eventually cut cause i realized it was a lot more compelling if it was parker himself vs the anomaly rather than 2 different ones trying to string him along (and also cause time restraints were eating me alive)

anyways ty for playing, and im glad you enjoyed!

/spoiler warning for those just reading the comments!!!/

sorry, not sure if it was a bug but the correct password for stuff is supposed to be "08091994" which you get by substracting the age from the year of the chatlog. it could also be because i forgot to change "photos" to "stuff" in the password hints file which would also be my fault. if that still doesn't work than i don't know.

ty for playing and im glad you enjoyed! also you're one of like the only people to actually criticize my use of the spin theme and actually play through the whole game, not give up after the first password so i appreciate it lol

mentioned this somewhere else but funnily enough, the bullet hell spin the refresh thing was actually one of the first things i came up with during development, though it ended up taking a backseat cause i got so absorbed in the lore- so sorry if it didn't seem fully fleshed out, i was kinda banking on that one off line in the theme announcement video where juniper said "it can be a spinning object" or smth, and also the slow loading bar joke (most people figured out they could press the refresh button before the popup came tho)

still, ty for the feedback!

geniunely phenomenal art direction, not much more i can say- great job!

never been a fan of fnaf like resource management games but the visuals and overall aesthetic of the game more than made up for it! seriously i can not praise the art direction enough, great job!

*spoilers warning for anyone scrolling in the comments!!!!!*

ty for the feedback, that was super helpful! i'll try to go over everything but sorry if my explanations are bad.

-Yeah a lot of the playtesters mentioned the bug but i could not for the life of me figure out how to fix it, so in it stays. sorry lol

-I wasn't exactly trying to go for a metaphor with the ending, as throughout the entire game it's built up like "oh you're friends gone missing" "oh this weird computer thing is trying to prevent you from proceeding" "im sure if i keep digging deeper i can find the answer" when in reality ambigous loss almost never has clear solution that makes the grief go away. the reveal that the folder is empty is supposed to shock the player as much as the virus thing because the virus assumes it's protecting august's last secret while the player assumes they're helping parker find closure.

-funnily enough the bullet hell spin to win sections were the first thing i thought up when starting development, though i ended up getting so invested in the story that i ended up taking the sideline lol. yeah the theme was a little unclear though it was supposed to be explained with the first loading window where if you wait long enough the message (Taking too long? Try spinning the refresh button!) pops up though most players figured it out before it even did. so the bullet hell sections, you are spinning the refresh button (the velocity of the spin increases every time you click it though its pretty subtle so i get not noticing it)

-this doesn't really solve the dillema thing but i mentioned how the virus is trying to protect august while you're trying to help parker or whatever, in the school paper (im not sure if you read it, it was kinda a massive wall of text) was the main world builder of the story. i won't lie it was mainly just cause i love the concept of worlds where paranormal entities just seem mundane to the average pedestrian, but also cause i thought the metaphorical anomolies were a really neat metaphor (the main one you encounter being sort of a mix of nostalgia and grief) i'd say neither option is correct persay, with both sides representing unhealthy coping mechanisms. one being to stay anchored in the past clinging desperately to what remains, the other being searching desperately for an answer that doesn't exist, when all it does is harm you.

anyways sorry i got a bit rambly im not too good at putting my thoughts into words but still, thank you for playing and im glad you enjoyed!

omg everyone keeps saying that :sob: the spin to win mechanic shows up like ~5 minutes into the game, you have to solve like 2 passwords first so i dont blame you for not getting to it but still please try to complete it if you can! (also its embarassing but turbowarp)

love the art style and warioware-esque games!!!! did find the basic movement around the office kinda difficuilt though thats mainly just cause my reaction time sucks. great game!!!! (made even more impressive by the fact it was coordinated by a group of like 50 people) TEAM ASS FTW!!!!

omg tysm!!!! honestly the writing was the part i was most worried about, all my playtesters seemed to think it was fine but still, seeing someone geniunely moved by it means so much to me!! (also unrelated but guessing by your game you were one of the admins for team ass right? absolutely crazy teamwork- working anything but solo already scares me, i could not imagine trying to coordinate a team of like 50 people)

wait so you used desmos for the sheer love of the game? LMAO thats hilarious props to you- also thanks for the recommendation ill go check it out!

a balatro incremental game is an incredible idea that im suprised i haven't seen before, incredible execution (even crazier that's its made with DESMOS??????) i shudder to think about what youd be capable of making if you learned like godot or smth.

oh hey i remember you posting this in discord! funny how similar our games are. anyways very neat game with incredible visuals (the crt effect does make the text very hard to read tho) was a bit confused on what to do at first but ended up getting it after reading the description

haven't really played any visual novels so i can't helpful feedback but i thought the story was very lovely! art style was super charming too, though the "spin to win" part of the game did seem a little shoehorned in. still nice job tho!

yeah that was a complaint i got a lot from playtesters so you're not alone but i could not figure out for the life of me how to fix it :sob: ty for playing tho! glad you enjoyed

ty!!! the spin to win part came around ~5 mins into the game? it required like 2 password solves to get to so i don't blame you, but finish it if you can!

amazing visuals and gameplay! love the choose your own adventure/dnd style of progression, though the difficult could use a bit balancing. great job!
