Thank you!
And I fixed the bug on the other game now. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. :)
Thank you very much! I made this for a game jam so it definitely has some bugs. I will try to fix that one for you. :)
I would love to hear what you think of another game I made for a different jam https://mrpretzel.itch.io/lumis-nightmare
This was a lot of fun! Great job. I did find a bug on level 5 where if I pressed E (which there was no need to do but I did out of habit from the other levels) it froze the whole game and I couldn't find a way to unfreeze it. Someone else mentioned it too but I kept trying to drop the smoke clouds with left click. Overall though, great entry! Thank you for sharing it
Thank you so much. I went back to look at the code to find out why the main menu was behaving that way - I used a "jump" input to mark a click and forgot that I had also set the up arrow to function as a jump... I'll have to fix that after the voting. Thanks for finding it and letting me know. And I agree default should have been to the easy mode and have an option for hard. I just implemented that too late in the process to risk swapping it. :)
Thank you! I like the idea of a timer to show when platforms will change colors - it just didn't occur to me when making the game. I saw something like that done in another game submitted (Colour Platformer by jbalsby https://jbalsby.itch.io/colour-platformer ) and immediately regretted not doing that :)
I'm new to making games and have 0 musical or ability to make SFX. I was hoping to find someone to team up with for audio. Someone who won't be upset if I can't finish the game on time.
In the past I've used music and sound effects that I've found here on itch (which I can keep doing) but I would like to try to take it up a notch.
I've made a couple of DevLog posts for the game and posted a demo if you want to check it out before deciding. https://mrpretzel.itch.io/lumis-nightmare
Thanks :)
Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked the intro; I threw it together on the last day (along with the main menu, transition, and victory and game over notices). I meant to have the abilities work better together but just couldn't get it right.
I don't really know what you mean by "4.4 triggers", could you explain that? I am super new to this hobby and have no background in programming/coding so I am often at a loss with the terminology.
I really liked the art style and the audio in this game. It took me a while to figure out that I was supposed to match the patterns and that I could switch to the map that gave a general idea of what icon was in what region, but I just couldn't remember the patterns I was aiming for well enough to pull off more than the shortest matches. It was a bit hard for me, but I liked the idea behind it. Thanks for sharing it.
My first play through I almost immediately found an artifact and then was trying to figure out if there was a pause button and exited by accident. Second playthrough, I wandered around for like 10 minutes without finding an artifact nor the gorilla (I had a camera drift issue that time that caused me to constantly turn slightly right so that contributed to being lost). I finally found an artifact and then got immediately killed by the gorilla. It was definitely spooky though. Good job!
