Maybe at some point, it's a huge load of time updating each character to be fully compatible, for now characters like Bowser or Bubba work fine with him!

Recommended it's the IKEMEN buil, it's more stable and has more features than MUGEN

That's odd, maybe try using xbox controllers, I've tested the game with one of thpse and it wokred fine. Don't know if it works with other conrollers ><
