Hello gamers!

We're building a JRPG, Vestiges of Eternity, and are looking for some feedback on our initial implementation of the battle system. We wanted to design a fast and responsive turn-based style that improves upon old-school JRPG formats. The demo can be downloaded on a Windows PC and includes support for XBox and PS5 controllers as well as keyboard and mouse.

One of the things we wanted to achieve was a system where there were no "dead" moves the player would never use. There are strong reasons to use each of the many moves included so far in the demo, so gone are the days of mindlessly auto-attacking for 90% of a game. The enemies have traits and abilities as well, some of them quite dangerous, so appropriate tactics are necessary at times.

We envision 8 classes in total, and we've included 4 of them in this early demo. We want you to be able to play any class that seems cool without the need for the stereotypical party makeup. For instance, every player has identical heals, so there is no need to use up a slot on an obligatory healer.

This is just a battle demo so we are hoping primarily for feedback on the gameplay loop.
