this is so cool, i wish purgatory was real

Very fun game, with a very interesting puzzle mechanic! I can hardly imagine the possible puzzles you could come up with if this were expanded into a full project. Bravo!

Ha, sorry about that. The walk cycle was a little rushed and I really wish I had a chance to improve it. Thank you for the kind words on the enemy design! Your words are appreciated!

I really appreciate your kind words about the character design! Thank you!

Thanks for the kind words on the pixel art! Glad to know that you had enjoyed it.

Thanks! Designing the enemies and doing the pixel art was a lot of fun, so I'm glad to hear that you had enjoyed it.

Ah, brilliant! Good luck!

...I'll just ping you on Discord.

Not sure why the image didn't send. I'll try attaching it again.

Hello! I'll write a proper review when I've finished playing, but I'll just pop a note of this down now, while it's in recent memory: there's a softlock in the transition area between the guitar realm and development hell, exactly where I'm standing in the image.

Great game! The visual style is really nice, and, while I struggled quite a bit with the gameplay (only made it about 20% up), the controls and movement were really interesting to work out! You've got something quite special on your hands, and as a first gamejam game, it's rather quite brilliant. Good job, overall!

Have you gotten to the final round yet? Excited to hear your progress!

Thank you! I spent a really long time doing the sprites, so I'm glad to hear that the efforts were fruitful.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I think there's probably better ways of making something difficult rather than just giving stuff high attack speeds and damage

I appreciated it! I spent a longass time making the logo, so its good to hear someone who likes it.

No problem! It was my pleasure.

Heaven trembles not from my rage, but the justice you had attempted to bury. You tears will overwhelm the seas of salt, and your bloated corpse will become the dirt I walk on.

That's the godmode, left active for debug or showcase purposes. Its activation key is "G".

Really good stuff! Interesting base mechanic, and it has a lot of potential. I never managed to beat the game, I got stuck on the bit with the 3 targets, however the moveset is really interesting. Although, it can be tedious to use at times, as I will unconsciously be holding A or D during a jump, and do a diagonal boost rather than a vertical one. That being said, really nice art, really interesting base mechanic, and a lot of potential for a really great platforming game. Good luck!

Incredible game! It was quite a lot of fun and really intense! The steam boss fight was also brilliant, and I love all the little references it had in it. The art style was really coherent and visually appealing, too. The creativity of playing as the cursor and the finger gun was great, and the hearts getting their tabs closed when you take damage is lovely detail. All-round, a really brilliant game, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I'm still smiling now, as I write this. Good luck!

The art was quite detailed and nice, and reminded of a game-boy advanced game. The level design, too, was a lot of fun, however I wish that the blue guy's moveset could be used outside of their introductory areas, as this would've made for an even better experience on top of what was already a fun game. Similarly, this not being mentioned anywhere did cause a couple of deaths and frustration, as I assumed the game was bugging out. Likewise, not being able to see what was in the next room (due to some of the parts where you'd need to jump down) did cause a bit of frustration, but that's probably more of a skill issue on my end.

Overall, really fun and aesthetically pleasing game! If you do make a full version, you should definitely try having the full moveset be useable at some point, and mention where players don't have a specific ability. Good luck!

Brilliant work! The game had a really interesting idea behind it, and had shown of a lot of unique and creative ideas. The ending sequence on the final map was fun, too. I feel like the tutorial was too much of an info-dump at the start, though, and I noticed a couple of issues with the ACDC system. For example, I'd have all of my power bits set to direct, however they would still be attacked by green bugs. The game was, still, a lot of fun, though, and I'd love to see a full version release!

Appreciated! I spent a while making the sprites, so I'm glad to hear that they turned out well

thanks

the sprites are so cool and well-made
