Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad some of the mechanics stood out, I am looking into ways to add more to them and polish them as well.
An adaptive camera when sprinting is a great suggestion, I’ll explore ways to implement it.
Really nailed the theme of the Jam and super addictive. Once I got to harvest the first flower the whole game clicks and becomes a smooth and relaxing experience. Very in depth for the conditions and the variety of species. When you get into the habit of looking at the book, you can easily unlock different varieties of flowers.
For the controls I would like to have key binds for the tools since going up and down in the menu for the hoe and hammer is a bit unintuitive.
The addition of time management is a great touch. It gives players the choice to speed things up or let everything grow slowly in the background.
It’s impressively in-depth given the constraints, with a great variety of species. Well done!
Thank you so much for the detailed feedback. I really appreciate you taking the time to play and share your thoughts!
These are all known issues I’m planning to address after the jam. I was looking into improving the tool animations, especially reducing the delay on the shovel (I forgot to change this before submitting and it was on my todo list lol), since digging currently feels a bit slow. And yes, you do need to dig twice on the same spot, which may have caused some confusion.
The mouse controls are a bit of an extra. I originally designed the gameplay around keyboard input only (which would automatically select the soil in progress or the nearest spot to the player), and added mouse interaction later as an option. I can see how that might be causing some of the inaccuracy you mentioned, so I’ll definitely revisit that.
The sprite shaking and overall visual stutter are also high on my priority list, since they take away from the cozy feel I’m going for.
Thanks again for the kind words and the fun suggestions. I love the idea of making interactions more lively and expressive!
Thank you! Appreciate the feedback! I also noticed the houses were the same too lol.
Yes the diagonal movement is causing a bit of a stutter (an issue with Godot's camera movement, pixel art placements and the size of the window) - I will be trying to fixes to this post jam.
I will be implementing new features after the jam too that will add more to the gameplay like a little farming sim.
So far this game is the most relaxing game I've played from the Jam, very fitting for the theme
Feels very well polished! If I have to give feedback it would only be that at night is was hard to distinguish some of the flowers' colors but this wasn't a big deal.
Great choice of art assets. Really well done!
Lots of fun playing through the end. It did take me a while to get used to the controls and the inventory navigation, probably because I was using keyboard.
The encounter with a certain enemy effect really caught me off guard when it messed with movement but it was a nice touch lol.
The inventory menu looks so good.
I really liked the enemies, boss, and weapon variety you guys have and the different upgrades the player can get kept me exploring the levels.
The only thing that was giving me a hard time during the run were the keyboard controls, but I haven't tried using the controller so next run I might use it.
Well done!
