This seems like a very fun game! I sadly had to try it out alone since I don't have anyone around to play with right now.
It is very solid for a first project and it reminds me a lot of the old-school local coop/pvp games me and my friends used to play on the school computers hahaha.
I think you have a bright future ahead in game development, in time, when you feel ready to get more into the coding aspect I wholeheartedly recommend making games on Pico-8 and on Godot too!
Very fun game! I managed to get 7000 kills before my fingers got tired and the enemies became too many lol.
I have some ideas that I think could make it much better:
1: Enemy variety. As I played I felt the need to have some other type of enemy that actually made moving worth it, like an enemy that shoots from a distance and can kill your character. Right now there is no real incentive to move from the center of the screen as you can't take damage and the center gives you the best coverage for all directions enemies may come from.
2: Auto-fire. When you really think about it you realize there isn't a single moment where you wouldn't want to be shooting, having to click to fire actually makes it so someone that clicks slow can't take advantage of their fire-rate upgrades and someone who clicks fast will just get tired of clicking.
Tried your game and it was quite fun and felt very polished, it'd be great if you could try mine on one of your future streams!

Played your game and it was really fun! It's quite hard though so I only managed to get to wave 2 lol. Would love for you to try and rate mine :)

Hi, Id love for you to check out mine! https://itch.io/jam/brainless-mini-game-jam/rate/4190135
Thank you very much for the tip! Well spotted, I'll fix that right now.
Edit: I couldn't get into fixing how the chair handles collisions right now since the jam ends in only a couple hours so I just made it so you always grab the chair from the left. That should hopefully eliminate the root cause of the bug
