I'm still not sure but roughly $10-$12 depending on the end product.

Hiya, I'm looking into Steam keys to see if access can be given that way because of restrictions on Steam. It'll likely be done on my Patreon π Unfortunately, I won't be selling the full game on itch.io just because of piracy concerns as well as profits earned through the current system. Steam will be the only place it's sold β¨οΈ
Thank you for playing, and I'm so glad you enjoyed the family dynamic! It's one of my favourite parts to write, especially the scenes with Salyra π there are a few bonus stories from the family's perspectives on my Patreon, and those will eventually be sold as a compiled PDF/ebook, but I'll likely be releasing a few freebies in the new year (2026) so keep a look out for announcements on those π
No, you're not missing anything πI try to leave the character dynamics to feel as open-ended as possible so that players can interpret the different actions as they feel to them without being told they're wrong. There is no right or wrong way to interpret Salyra's actions and I have a range from she's evil to she was just trying her best from players. If you can forgive her, great and if not, you won't be punished for acting against her either. So however you feel about her, it's completely valid and definitely not wrong.
Hosted Games and Choice of Games uses Choicescript to code/design the games and my game is created using Twine, so there's definitely no plans to use them to publish Crown of Exile. The game is being developed solely by me, so there's no need to be using Choice of Games or Hosted Games to publish Crown of Exile. Hope this answers you!
Thank you so, so much for this beautiful comment πβ¨οΈ I can't tell you how much it means that you not only came back after two years, but that Crown of Exile could still resonate with you in such a deep way. Reading your thoughts honestly left me a little star-struck myself π₯Ήπ«
Your breakdown of Salyra is absolutely spot-on. You've captured her complexity perfectly. She's such a tangled character to write because, as you said, she truly believes she's doing the right thing, even when her actions cross lines that feel unforgivable. That mix of love, regret, and intrusion is exactly what makes her so bittersweet, and you explained it in such a moving way. I'm really touched by how much care and thought you put into reflecting on her π
It makes me so happy that the layers in the characters and relationships are shining through for you, even across different playthroughs β¨οΈ That's one of the things I love most about interactive fiction, and knowing it's connecting with you like this makes all the hours of writing and re-writing worth it.
Thank you again for sharing your heartfelt thoughts (and for reminding me to hydrate π π§). I'll do my best to make the wait for the full game worthwhile! Sending you lots of love and sparkles ππΈβ¨οΈ
