Had another read of this today and got to delight once again in that I'm holding a physical copy of the work done by friends so dear to me.
The art is absolutely stunning, to begin with; the color scheme as the scene progresses from warm to cool, both as the night passes and as the tone of things shift, is incredibly pleasant to look at and the linework that brings out expressions and setting are just SO perfect to me. The art style is exactly what I love in a comic or graphic novel, readable and unique with the perfect amount of detailing—not too much, not too little. And those frames that start to crack at juuust that moment.....
Not to mention the writing itself! While the art is the major draw, being a comic zine and all, the writing that drives it is really beautiful and the dialogue is an absolute treat!! PLUS we get the extra details like merch previews and authors' notes, the page about mooncakes, the "profile" pages for the main characters.... All of this for the price is incredible and I think everyone who reads these comments should absolutely give it a try.
Also I start wibbling every time at that page of Linfeng crying oh my god. bawls so loud at you guys how could you do my heart like that YOWLS. need them to smooch asap to make up for this smhs my head ( <3 )
Looking forward to one day having a physical copy of everything Baishuang Literary Studios produces so that I can start filling out a little shelf in my future hobby room one day!!
