Thank you! I'm a huge fan of Poe, and it would absolutely thrill me if my game reminds you of his style. I hope the subsequent music can better convey that sense of eeriness and tension.

The opening comic is super charming, and this is absolutely adorable and wonderfully stress-relieving, while unexpectedly fitting the theme perfectly!
If squish marks could be left behind after stepping on the cockroaches, players would likely get greater visual satisfaction from their actions.
I really enjoyed it—thank you for creating this!
The polish of this game is downright astounding - I believe it's the most meticulously crafted 3D game I've seen in this game jam. While the gameplay mechanics differ, its distinctly retro, desolate and hardcore aesthetic vividly reminds me of King's Field. The visual , SFX, BGM and characters are all impeccably executed.
Creating something like this in seven days is truly remarkable, and I'll be eagerly following its future updates.
Therefore, we strive to capture these subtle moments in daily life and trace how they quietly shape our thought processes. Through exaggerated, dramatic expressions—particularly with imaginary companions or internal dialogues—we employ fragmented, stream-of-consciousness, daydream-like techniques to portray the intricate struggles of minds like ours.
Nothing would bring us greater joy than having others recognize and resonate with these experiences. Thank you for your empathy and appreciation! I'm hoping to incorporate more meta branches and endings to make up for the constraints of time. :)
To be honest, our team consists of just two members, with one additional person assisting us with English localization. Both developers are likely neurodivergent to varying degrees, and we truly understand those moments of struggle and frustration—especially regarding certain obsessive tendencies, perfectionism, or other seemingly small things that others might not notice but significantly impact us... you know how it is.
Yes, it's a pity that due to our limited experience, we only have two part-time members working on development aside from localization tasks, so we were unable to incorporate music/sound effects before the deadline.
I understand that adding musical variations at emotional climaxes or intense moments would have been highly impressive. Even though the jam has ended, I still plan to ask a professional composer friend to create music for this game in the coming months. Thank you for your suggestion—please stay tuned for future updates!
I really love the visual style presented in this game—it reminds me of the consoles or control panels that widely used CRT devices back in the day... It gives off a great nostalgic feel.
The music is cool, the art style is highly appealing, and although I haven't fully grasped the gameplay yet, it seems to have significant potential for further development. I'll look on future updates. Great job!
Hi LapaDev507, I tried your game and I like the way you use SFX and your cute graphics.
I have the same problem as you last night, which means I also upload my game as draft so that I can't submit it. So I asked MYline media if I can submit my game again, which is ok, just DM MYline media on discord and send your link. Hope this helps!
Hello, thank you for playing! Unfortunately, due to the limited jam timeframe, I haven't had the chance to adjust the window resolution yet. I've now uploaded an EXE installation package to allow full-screen gameplay (though the font appears somewhat small—I'll optimize this later). Hope you enjoy it!
Thanks Xenogate for playing my game and for the encouragement of action system! In fact, the game is pretty partial, and despite all my cool ideas, I haven't had time to set up a more complex story, levels, and animations, but I promise you that I'll keep updating until I finish all my ideas!
Regarding the impressive atmosphere and art, to be honest, as a developer with only a little experience in programming and as game designer, I had to buy assets , but Penusbmic (https://itch.io/profile/penusbmic), the great artist I chose, has gorgeous art skills, which greatly facilitates me to build the scene, and I hope to make up my shortcomings in art through a smooth and refreshing action system, which could be a feature and advantage. I'll be sure to publish various updates in the future, and let you know when there is any progress, hoping you will enjoy the new version!
Besides, I'm too busy these days so I haven't try many games in this Jam (I planned to rate all of them tomorrow), but I have tried and rated Siege of Amal with excitement! Your creativity is so incredible that I can't believe such a literary work with depth could be designed in just two weeks. Unfortunately, I haven't had a lot of free time lately, so I decided to rate everyone's game first and write more long reviews next week. I have a lot of impressive parts about your game, and I hope to have an in-depth conversation with you in the follow-up comments! Thank you again for such a wonderful story!
Thanks Luke for playing and comment! Yes, I've done some updates, such as fixing bugs where enemy corpses' hitbox won't disappear, and change the area of hitbox to increase smoothness, but considering the fairness of the Jam, I'd like to upload the updates after the rating is over!
I'll probably be working on the UI in a week, as well as a pretty basic cutscene, hoping to make it look better. I'll let you know if there's any progress and I hope you will enjoy it!
I'm really lost in it as before! I always enjoy playing retro games and admire developers who insist on creating retro games, always reminding me of old games I played in the past with simple graphics but unique mechanics or stories. There's no doubt that Hagrode II is one of these kinds of retro games with sense of nostalgia which brings me back to past.
Compared to Hagrode, Hagrode II has the more creepy environment design, and I especially love the scary humanoid statues along the way; and with the same weird atmosphere as the Hagrode, it has made extremely obvious progress in transitions and FX, and a very typical Lovecraftian boss is shown in the end. Wandering into a grave and losing himself by the indescribable sounds, I couldn't help thinking of Lovecraft's The Temple. Unfortunately, due to time limit, it seems that Luke didn't have enough time to create a direct link between these two stories, but I definitely look forward to future works in this series, which may be able to form a huge and hauntingly creepy world!

Wow, you are so talented! Thanks a lot for the information of LMMS and I'll give it a try as well. Due to the interest for Hagrode and your other lovely games (I'll try all of them in my free time), I decide to join your Cosmic Horrors Jam of this year. Lacking experience in game jam, it might be a real challenge for me but I'll try my best.
Good luck with your jam!
This game is awesome!
I really like the atmosphere it creates by the pixelated screen and uneasy sound effects. The design of the low light by lamp definitely terrified me a lot due to the fear for unknown, which lasted till the indescribable end.
Btw, would you kindly tell me what kind of sound effect do you use (or what are these kind of sound effects called) when your character murmurs? I really like the sound, which reminds me of the sound effects in horror game "Faith: The Unholy Trinity". I tried to search this kind of sound using the term "Distorted horror voices" but failed to find anything suitable for the feeling of "indescribable whisper". It would be very useful for my game so I'll appreciate it if you could tell me something about the effect.
Thanks again for my immersive horror experience!
