Saving the game takes 5+ minutes

Don't bother downloading this build.

There's an exploit that allows you to make thousands of credits with a tiny amount of work and some already existing credits.

First buy a woodchipper and some garbage bags. Break all of the supply boxes at base and collect their wood splinters. Hold a splinter and then alt+left click on the woodchipper, it will place a wooden block into it instead of the splinter. This will produce 10 garbage piles. Each pile sells for 4 credits so it's a 3 credit profit. There's enough splinters at base (not counting the basement or bunker) to make 2100+ credits in a single day. If you go crazy with all of the supply boxes on the map you'll have at least 10k credits.

Yes the music changed, there's new ambient music that sometimes plays.

I haven't seen anyone document this signal before. Needless to say I wasn't expecting that.

The mailbox saves items from reset and items in it exist between all save files. You can't add items from sandbox and use them in the other gamemodes though.

I think people are overreacting regarding the garbage in the base. There is a lot of it but you can simply pile it in a corner and slowly chip away at it while you wait for your signals to finish. The real issue is that garbage bags cost credits, and you need at least 200 of them assuming you don't break any. That's 600 credits. My suggestion is to make the garbage bags free.

A major oversight however is the dirtiness of the base. The only way to clean the grim off is with the power washing gun from the treehouse, which means you have to wait 31 days before you can clean the base. If you've passed the day which the event happens and reset events then you can't get the gun anymore unless you already obtained it and put it in the mailbox. If it fell out of the world like it did for me then there's nothing you can do. A power washer should be added to the store.

There also needs to be a save state for the base between updates otherwise players will be forced to clean EVERY.SINGLE.UPDATE and that's simply unacceptable.

Food tolerance is a terrible idea and should be removed.

The game also lags terribly when sleeping.

You have to set them on fire and let them burn to ash. You can do this by either using the lighter bought from the store or by setting an object on fire in the microwave.

Download grey edition and type execute_duende51 in the console :)

The center circle of the detector is what it's beeping at. The higher pitch and faster the beeping the closer you are to whatever it's picking up.

Dig in the center of it.

MREs are the worst food you can buy if you're concerned about cost effectiveness. Shrimp are the best, but since aliens will eat them when you're not looking it's best to buy them on a per-case basis instead of stockpiling them. Personally I just buy a bunch of cakes and put them in the fridge.

They were added to get you to leave the base more often.

If you're having trouble finding an item you can make a copy of your save, convert it to sandbox and then delete all trees/grass (by looking at a tree and using the destroy target option in the cheat menu) to make searching for it easier. That's how I found a skull that my ATV sent flying back in 0.5.2

I have noticed that the physics in 0.6 are weird with items randomly flying off surfaces in my base.

Yes. Many of them are new signals though, so you should download them.

In general there's a lot of repeat signals.

Nope that's not it, it's in the bathroom itself.

Just ran into something the dev added that I haven't seen anyone else mention. I won't say what it is, all I'll say is: check the bathroom! :)

Go to where save files are located (local/votv/saved/savegames) copy the save file and rename the first letter to whatever gamemode you want.

i=infinite, s=story, b=sandbox

If you make a save into sandbox and then back to story the game will still treat it like a sandbox file and disable certain items and events.

Buy some coffee bars for emergency cases like this.

Those are really nice trees, and they don't obstruct your view like the current ones. Looking forward to the entire map getting replaced with them.

I should clarify third party means outside the game. I can't remember if the game explicitly tells you the name 'ariral' outside of sandbox, I only found it from the wiki.

I don't use Twitter nor am I on the Discord so I don't know what the dev is posting.

I've noticed saving and reloading the game fixes Kerfus sometimes.

Meh, truthfully Signal Simulator always had the better atmosphere and scare factor. VotV is more enjoyable to play since there's more interactivity. You have to be looking at third party sources for information on the arirals anyways. I feel like people are blowing it out of proporation because muh furries.

Items have a tendency to fall through the world. Camera pictures will be broken after loading a save. There's also a lot of repeat signals, often back to back.

I wanted to post some of the things I've found after playing for a while.

SPOILER ALERT DON'T GO FURTHER IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET SPOILED

Something is killing deer and leaving their bodies around my base. There's 12 so far. There's also invisible entities on the radar that I can't see with the camera or EMF detector, so it's either a bug or there's something out there that can't be seen (yet)

This door showed up outside of my base as well. The EMF detector has all 3 lights around it. I haven't been able to open or interact with it.

This object crashed outside my base and shortly after, golden orbs began spawning around the map. If they get close to you they will kill you. Not sure how to defeat them.

I think it's great, I've actually been jump scared because of it. Tried it again and one spawned in front of the garage door. They show up where you least expect them now. Be on the lookout!

(1 edit)

I don't think it was actually removed. Unlike other commands that aren't in the game it tells you to "try again" and after doing it several times the cardboard cutout was spawned in front of the base door and a few satellites.

Hi, I made an account so I could write a few things about this update.

Firstly, for a bug, Kerfus doesn't pathfind correctly and will fixate on a server even after it's been fixed. It's also difficult trying to get him to fix servers in the first place with the new UI since he's constantly moving at you.

Secondly, I like the new generators but the utility poles are comically large. The game is also far too bright now, particularly at night which is disappointing as it ruins the atmosphere of the game (especially with the new additions this update) An option to return to the old brightness settings would be a nice inclusion.

Vargskelethor's mushroom has a broken model and displays as a piece of charcoal for me. There's also missing sounds like when locking/unlocking keypads or when a signal is finished downloading.
