Thank you for your kind and thoughtful reply! You're doing an amazing job, and you can tell how passionate you are about this! Well done on fixing those typos super quickly as well!

You're explanation on everything is really interesting and makes a lot of sense (like how RPG Maker skills work, that you had set Regis to act as a bodyguard, and your ideas for new skills/a shop)! But I am going to keep this comment brief since I already wrote so much last time and it sounds like you have loads of ideas for your next project, so I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with!! 😊 I hope the rest of your day (or night) goes well!

Ideas I had for TP-based moves for Magni & Vesper (please ignore if you are not interested or think this is a bad suggestion!):

For Magni, his gimmick is that he has bad attack and HP, but an amazing MP stat (with a good mix of offensive and utility spells) and speed! Each turn you are only going to want him to use an MP move, because his regular attack is so weak. Maybe his TP move (costs 50TP?) could be to allow another party member to attack twice for that turn? This would be good if you do not want to use MP that turn, or if you are facing an enemy which is weak to physical attacks but strong against magical attacks (Magni is better off letting someone else attack physically than attacking himself).
Lore-wise, the move could be a speed potion, Hopium, or (if you want to name it something that implies something physical was used to make it) Magmite juice/Crushed magmites?

For Vesper, I have 2 ideas for a TP move: Revive a fallen party member or Drain enemy HP (healing Vesper). The idea is that Magni is the only person who can revive someone else (Elixir). If he dies, unless you have an item which revives you (which does not exist in this DLC), there is nothing you can do. Since Magni dies the easiest this skill could be useful to have on someone else, but it is a powerful skill so it should still be difficult to use. Maybe it could cost 100TP (or 80TP)?
Lore-wise, maybe Vesper uses a totally-not-a-vampire-move (biting a neck, setting a curse) OR he reads a dark tome/book (as a scholar) which has a healing incantation.
If this is too powerful, maybe he does an attack that drains the opponents HP and heals Vesper’s HP. Could cost 50TP? The same lore-reasons could apply here.

I really enjoyed this; it works great as short sequel/side story to the previous game! You did a good job introducing the new characters in this game, and the art on all of their sprites is amazing! There is a lot of attention to detail throughout the game and it’s fun seeing all the references to the boys’ streams!

This game is definitely more substantial than the Dez Birthday story in the previous game, and I really like how you have been adding to the original game map! While playing Dez’s Birthday I noticed that—along with the new pumpkin area added to the west—there was also a new lava lake area in the south, and I wondered what that was for: turns out it was for the new dungeon in this game! It’s really cool to see it used that way!
I was also really happy that I could finally enter the building in the top-left of the town (the casino)—we never got to go inside that building in the previous game and I really wanted to!

I was really impressed you programmed a playable slot machine at the casino as well! This has no bearing on the actual game (besides being fun!) since you could ignore it, but the fact that you put the effort to include it is genuinely really cool!

As for the gameplay itself, I had fun being able to use the full party in a dungeon! I love the new skills you added too, especially Axels’ magic attack which can covert Axel's MP into TP for the selected party member (I’m really honoured that you added this after I mentioned it in a comment last time!!)
I think previously Axel was the weakest party member because he had to wait to build up TP to do anything besides a regular attack, but this new support move (and his Thunder attack!) gives him more options during his turn and allows for more strategy (since you need to decide on if you want to use his turn to support or attack). I had loads of fun using it, however, I did notice an exploit: it makes Altare OP during boss fights!

I replayed the boss a few times to test it, and by using Axels’ MP>TP move on Altare 3 times, Altare can use ‘Switch to Regis’ at the start of Turn 4. Regis being really strong is normally balanced by how difficult it is to raise TP, so this move bypasses that. Now since this DLC is for Altare’s Birthday, I think him being extra powerful is quite fitting! But in case you are planning to make more games in the future, I have this suggestion:

1.) Nerf Axel’s move so he can only use it on another party member ONCE per battle. I tested this out, and if I restrict using the move on Altare to one-time-only, I could activate ‘Switch to Regis’ at the start of Turn 7. I think this is balanced, since by that point the other party members has had a chance to set-up and take away half of the boss’s health.
TLDR: Each battle Axel can use the move once on Altare, once on Magni, once on Vesper, and unlimited times on himself.

2.) I noticed that once Regis is activated, all enemy attacks now only hit him. So the boss’s Fire attack normally hits each party member once, but when Regis is active, Fire instead hits Regis 4 times. I think this is a bit too strong, since it means the party members aren’t in any danger and all I need to do is get Magni/Vesper to heal Regis each turn to win.
TLDR: I think Altare can still keep his strong stats and moves as Regis, but remove the feature of making all enemy attacks target him only. So in this case, boss’s fire would hit Regis, Magni, Axel & Vesper in one turn, and not hit Regis 4 times in one turn.

I didn’t encounter any other exploits during my gameplay though!
The current move loadout seems really solid, so any other suggestions I have would be unnecessary, but if you’re interested I was thinking of ideas that would allow Magni and Vesper to use TP (since both of these characters can build TP—and be given TP by Axel—but are unable to use it). I will write these ideas in a reply to this comment though.

Finally, I noticed a few minor typos at the end of the game (when giving gifts at the casino). Altare says “Thinks for joining the guild.” (Thanks for joining) to Flayon. And Vesper says “We fine some Premium Coffee Beans […]” (We found some) and “There is my favorite type of oolong.” (Here is my favorite) to Shinri.

Thanks for reading this, I really did love this game! I hope nothing I said came across as negative, since the game is amazing as it is! When I write my thoughts on things, I always like to add a critique in case it's helpful, but I don't want to distract from the fact that this is really impressive! I can't believe you made this for free in your own time, it's incredible!!

I completely understand your reasoning! Thanks for taking the time to read my comment and I appreciate the reply! :)

I think your English is good and I understood everything in the game! I noticed a few minor typos (such as Axel saying "Hey gus!" instead of "Hey guys!" when you first meet him at the colosseum), and the dialogue came across as stilted at times (i.e. the English was grammatically correct but quite formal for speech), but again it was perfectly understandable and conveyed the right emotions! The dialogue reminded me a lot of old RPGs since the writing feels similar in those, which I personally thought added charm to it!

I hope the rest of your day (or night) goes well!

Really cute game with great art! I played it for just under 2 hours to see all the dialogue possibilities at the end. It took me a long time because I suck at the game lol (I liked the challenge though!) I think the game would be fun even without knowledge of the source material, so I'm going to recommend this game to people who I think would be interested. It helps that it's also short and can be played on the browser (I didn't need to download any files or play though the app)!!

I agree with David's comment, particularly the suggestion to press spacebar to restart (using a mouse for this one action is mildly annoying).

I think the game's ending dialogue is a really strong aspect and could be utilized for any future games should you decide to make more. I thought your writing kept the Magz in character, and I wanted to see his reaction to things and the cool art poses he does! I'm not sure how difficult it would be to code, but an unlock gallery would be neat that allows you to view the art and/or ending scenes once you complete that route! The game is short enough that this isn't really needed though!

I didn't realise the catfood and L-car killed me at first, and while it makes sense lore wise (cool references btw!), maybe you could have it so you can pick up these items as well (but you can only carry one item to the end per run)? I want to see the maglord mald at my shitty gift choice! This is a personal suggestion that I think could increase the game's replayability and make it so you don't accidently die the first time thinking you can hit it, but honestly I'm just nitpicking at this point. I do really like the game as is! It's amazing that you made this for free as a fan and in such a short time frame!!

This is unrelated, but I really love the art you post on Twitter as well! That's how I found this game, actually!!

This is a very cute game with a lot of thought put into it! The gameplay is surprisingly substantial; it has good pacing and some creative dungeon ideas with cool map designs! I also liked the bonus Happy Birthday side story!

The entire game is also filled with references everywhere; from animations, menu descriptions, dialogue and more! If you are a Tempus fan, definitely give this game a go! It made the game feel very earnest and it was funny seeing these things pop up!

I enjoyed this game a lot more than I thought I would and I'll play any other games the creator makes if they decide to make more!

I do truly think this game is very good and it's extremely impressive that it was made by a fan in such a short time frame and for free!! I do have some very minor critiques if you want constructive criticism (contains spoilers):

I think there should be 1 more dungeon and/or boss (optional?) after getting Vesper since you don't really get a lot of time to play with the full party otherwise. I also think repayable bosses would be cool, as that gives you something to do with your save file once you have completed the game. I do understand that this would have taken extra time that you might not have had however, and by all means I think this game is great as it is!

Another thing is that I thought the MP spells were generally cooler and more personalised to the characters than TP skills were (exception is 'Switch to Regis' skill, which is great!). The main character affected by this is Axel. I also found it tricky to build up TP in some cases, so I struggled to get Axel to do something besides a regular attack on most turns. Maybe Axel could have had an MP spell that would allow him to build up TP faster?

Finally, I think you could block off inaccessible areas with NPCs to show that you can't go there yet. I explored the whole map trying to go to places I wasn't supposed to at first (I still had fun exploring though)! But this is a very minor and personal suggestion!
