This is a fantastic game.

Each year as I explore the entries for Otome Jam I expect to find one (and sometimes, several) gems, and this is it for me.

The writing, the design, the romance and the lore, everything is amazing. I can feel the love and time that was put into it, thank you so much for your work!

I loved all 3 routes, with Aeden as my favorite. I'd be curious to know what is real name is :).

Best character goes to Astora. Her boldness, bravery and level-headedness is everything I love in a main character.

This has been added to my list of comfort games, thank you so much <3

Hi, sorry for late answer!

So to answer your question, I think another route with one of Wynn's friends (not the asshole - sorry I forgot his name!) could be interesting, but I guess you'd have to change the prologue a little to introduce more fleshed out characters.

I also thing it'd be fun to create another story within the same lore, maybe with whole new characters, or with Isla as MC?

I loved this game with all my heart, I just wish it was longer with even more routes <3

I'm also team Sabian, I've always been weak to the serious, responsible type... I'll come back to play his route again!

Great job <3

This game was CUTE.AS.HELL. I've had my eyes on it for a while since a saw your sprites on Twitter, I was stopped in my scrolling tracks when I saw the gorgeous drawings. The witing is on par with the designs so I couldn't be more satisfied!

  1. Which character was your favorite? Why?

Tristan got me. I must say I got interested in the game because of Theo's and Luca's looks, but I can't resist a gentle nerd when I meet one. I also felt that his route was the smoothest of the three.

I loved both Theo and Luca as well, however for Luca I feel like the ending was missing something to be entirely satisfying to me. I get that it came with his character, but I would have loved something more official (and a clear "I like you") by the end.

  1. Did you manage to make all the guys on the main screen regain their color?

Yes! Getting the good endings wasn't too easy or too hard, perfect for someone like me who usually plays with walkthroughs.

  1. What's your favorite moment in the game?

The steamy moments. Heh.

  1. Do you want a Mark route?

Why not? Not attracted to what we saw of his personnality, but since the writing is great I'd be curious to see how you guys play it out!

  1. Would you replay the game if it were fully voiced?

I'm not into voice acting, so that wouldn't make me want to replay the game. However, I can see myself playing it again in a few months or a year, as a kind of comfort game for when I need short fluffy stories.

Thanks for your hard work, it was a really enjoyable experience <3

(1 edit)

I just finished the game and I HAD to leave a comment here, because that was so much better than what I expected! I'm not fond of sad  or open-ended stories, so the "Bittersweet" part in the title had me worried. Sure, the scenario was heavy in emotions, but it was still SO SATISFYING! I think a big part of it is thanks to Aya's character. She's solid like a rock throughout every single route, but not in an unrealistic way. She really is my ideal MC, so the whole ride was worth it just to be able to follow her. Thank you so much for creating such a strong, cool-headed and empathetic girl, I love her.

This game really is a ride. To be honest, I had a hard time with the first two stories because I couldn't warm up to Toshio and the relationship he and Aya had. Even now he's probably my least favorite (but I still liked his route, just not as much as the others). Surprisingly, I'd say my favorite is Yuta. I didn't know what to expect from his character and he just stole my heart.

Anyway, the only thing I wish the game had is an epilogue for each route to wrap things up even more satisfyingly. But since a remake is on the way, I can hope that will happen (either within the game or as a DLC).

Thanks again for the great time <3

Ok so, my comment isn't gonna be very original because all I can say is that I love the game! I've only played Veris' route so far and this is as adorable and satisfying as can be. I got the normal ending on my first play and now I need to ask: Owl, could you tell me if you have planned on releasing a walkthrough? I'm that kind of player who likes to use walkthroughs most of the time because I enjoy "best" endings the most. I've looked for a fan-made walkthrough but found nothing. If you do have one, would you agree to share it to the community?

Of course I'll keep playing in any case, I can't wait to discover Fai's route. Thank you for such a great game <3

Thank you for this beautiful masterpiece, Ebon Light goes directly into my top 3 visual novels and I'll be sure to play it again in a few months when I feel like I've forgotten enough of it to start again from the beginning (sometimes I wish I could erase my memories just to play these great games again and again). I just finished all the routes and I am so in love and jealous of you at the same time for being able to write such great stories, and create an amazing world with just the right amount of mysteries, fantasy and realism (which is something I've been trying to do myself for so long). I love all the characters and will think about them for a long time, also because your art is great, thank you so much. If you start looking for translators one day, I'd be happy to translate your game into French (I am a freelance translator), I'm sure many people from the French community would enjoy it. Please keep writing & drawing Underbliss, I'll support you in the future as well.

Now, for those who'd still be hesitating to try this game, here is my first tip: buy it. It deserves all the thanks and the money. Second tip: if you're like me and enjoy playing with a bit of guidance, look for Underbliss' walkthrough on her Tumblr, and read the comments below, that will help.
