i might be stupid but what's the answer to "say you're sorry" i've tried both "sorry" "i'm sorry" and "me" but it just keeps looping

is this only a demo?
becaue i can't seem to get to the second level, i've beaten the boss 3 times and it just gives me the cutscene and then puts me back at the main menu.
i click on the "level select" in the menu but it only shows "forest" (not even the locked icon for the other two)
and on the checkpoint menu it's still locked
do i have to pay?
