hi algorithm comment

Haha, sorry for the confusion lol. I'm so glad you figured it out and enjoyed it, especially as someone not already familiar with The Exit 8! Thank you for playing!

Yeah- it was what our team IMMEDIATELY went to haha. Thanks for playing!

Thank you for playing! :D

Haha, I'm glad it invokes that sort of idea! Thank you for playing!

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for playing! :D

Thanks for playing!

Great job! Thanks for playing!

Definitely a great idea haha. As I said on the jam page, we definitely plan to release an update to fix this right after the jam, since it's definitely the biggest issue with the game lol

Congrats on finishing! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for playing!!

(1 edit)

Definitely a great suggestion! We didn't really have time to do that due to how last-minute the tutorial was, but we're planning to release an update to fix it after the jam just for our own satisfaction lol. I do like the option of redoing the tutorial while making it optional- I haven't heard that one before lol. Thank you for playing!

You had the right idea! The only issue is that there's two random rooms each run - you can see them both in their default states the first time, and then afterwards, when the map pops up, there's a chance for smaller anomalies - like items changing colour, or going missing! You'd want to go backwards when one of these anomalies happens. I'm sorry for the confusion, and thank you for playing!

I'm glad you liked it! Our artists KILLED it hehe. Thanks for playing!

I'm glad you liked it! Thank you for playing!

Yeah, very fair. The point of the style of game IS to be confusing and make you figure it out, so it's a bit tricky before you know what you're doing. Thank you for playing!

Haha, nice job getting it though! Thank you for playing!

keep me updated

ah I see, I will try this in my next project.

also is there any correlation between PPE (Peak Programming Experience) and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)?

he is the developer of hit game SNAKELOOP, a masterpiece of game development that definitely isn't based off two identical functions! honestly it's way more fun than this one, you should hop over there

I'm glad you had fun! We definitely had a lot of fun lol, and learned a ton - it was a first game jam for both of us programmers, and my first time using Godot beyond navigating around the menus and watching a few videos haha. Very great experience, and I'm glad so many people have enjoyed it :D

That's awesome - congrats on figuring it out! Thank you for playing!

hold up his (code) writing is fire??

this is so peak teach me your secrets

Thanks for playing!

I'm glad you enjoyed it! We also love Ikea :3. Thanks for playing!

Haha yeah, that's sort of how it's meant to go. Congrats on getting it eventually, and thanks for playing!

The lack of guidance is sort of intentional, but we HAVE definitely been seeing how that style of game isn't for everyone lol. Thank you for playing!

That's actually sort of the intended gameplay loop lol- it's definitely got an initial sharp learning curve. I'm so glad you enjoyed it after you figured it out :D! Thank you for playing!

Ooh, that's a good point. A warning to keep an eye out at the start could definitely help - although a lot of it is cryptic intentionally to mimic the vibes of The Exit 8. The music is definitely a shame, I have no idea how the html port broke it lol. Thank you for playing!

Unfortunately sort of the point of this type of game- it's definitely not for everyone. For future reference you are shown each room once, and then you need to decide if there are changes the following times it appears, going forwards or backwards accordingly! Thank you for playing!

Thank you lol! Yeah, getting turned around is kind of the point, but I'm glad you had fun! And- yes that is a Tenna reference and my greatest contribution to this game hehe. Thank you for playing!

oh my goodness is this pro developer glitchagon22? tysm for signing our comment section it is a true honour

Yeah- sort of the point of this style of game haha. We definitely could've done better though. Thank you for playing!

Yeah- we worked on that, but it's sort of a consequence of the game's style. Thank you for playing!

The footsteps SHOULD be there, but apparently something about the html broke it for whatever reason :sob:. Unfortunate, but nothing we could really do about it with the time we had. And yeah, we've definitely heard the tutorial is annoying lol - bit of an oversight combined with little remaining time. I could fix it SO easily with the benefit of hindsight, but it still didn't happen haha. Thank you for playing!

Ooh that's a good point, we didn't really think of that. Given that three anomalies appear each time though, it should still be fully playable, if slightly harder at times. Definitely something to keep in mind though. Thank you for playing!

Totally fair. We initially planned to make it creepier, but it just didn't really happen lol. Thank you for playing!

Haha yeah that's very fair, it's a tricky style of game to learn! Thank you for playing!

That's definitely fair - You should hear the first song we had; it was so intense it just sounded goofy :sob:. Congrats on winning, and thank you for playing!

lol yeah, it can be tough to figure it out, but congrats on winning! Thank you for the nice words, I'll tell the artists, and thank you for playing!
