Sadly the game doesn't seem to function. Not sure why the .exe and the resources are uploaded separately.

Ah strange I thought it already was, ill make sure to do that then. Fair criticism however it definitionally could've used more content to pad out the time.

Sure! feel free to hit me up on discord.

Howdy!

We are currently a team consisting of a game developer (me!) and two sound designers. The game engine we will be using is Godot (its been getting some nice updates recently). We have successfully completed one game jam before, and I personally have experience with other bigger game projects with larger teams.

We are looking for a artist of any kind, whether 3d or 2d. I am capable of creating armatures for 3d models and rudimentary 3d models but nobody in the team has expertise in 2d art within our group, so if you have any experience and would like to join we would be happy to have you!

My discord is measuredmoth so feel free to comment in the topic and send me a friend request if you are interested!

Happy Holidays and good luck!

Edit: We just got our artists, whooo! we won't be taking anybody else though so the team doesn't get super large.

If you are still looking for a team, we would love to have you! I'll be sending a message over but let me know if you already got picked up.

Wow! We would love to have you, sent a friend request. Hopefully we can make something great!

This is incredible! The art style and gameplay is super interesting, and I can definitionally see it be fleshed out to a full game. I know I would buy it. My only complaint is that jumping is a bit difficult, mainly with reaching some of the stairs on the later parts.

Nice! I will then.

Game is pretty fun, definitionally can see this being fleshed out. Some stuff seems to overlap, what I assume is the melatonin ends up costing me health cause I can't see enemies. Not sure if it was just me, but some enemies also gave very little time to react, with them almost instantly doing damage.

Quite like! super simple but its a concept I haven't seen before. Solid game loop overall.

I was unable to play it sadly, the movement felt odd but workable. The text I believe is overwriting itself as it goes. This could be good, buts its hard to play atm.

Excellent, story was amazing, look was amazing, had zero issues overall.

Really, really charming. Its simple but it fits the "haunted ride" theme well. Well paced. Good spook music as well, that skeleton went hard.

Really good! Bit of a bug if you die, since none of the keys respawn, but with a couple tweaks this is a solid game.

Looks really good and sounds pretty good, i'm not the biggest fan of coin pushers but I can see this being a good mobile game with more features.

Pretty good overall, only complaint being that the murderer sometimes was at the edge of a room so that you die upon trying to enter it, without being able to see them.

Pretty scary, though the jump scares were a bit loud for me. I think if the spooky stuff was paced out more, it would make for a bigger scare.

Gameplay was repetitive, but that's fine, it made sense. My main issues were the screams, I don't think they ever got me and just ended up being loud.

This game seems super interesting, but I think due to a bug I was unable to progress. I think having a more clear indicator of being able to talk, or that conversation with a character is done would be good for qol. Otherwise, there is a lot of potential with this idea!

Thanks! And yeah that last 17km can be life or death depending on how active you were on making ammo. I agree that it needed more things to do, or more enemy variants (originally it was 30km, thank god we didn't do that!).

Dang! Hm, not sure why that may have happened. I'd have to check it out after the game jam, sorry that happened to you.

Thanks, it was fun making it.

Thanks! Sorry you didn't like some of the sound design.

I might end up doing a follow up update to polish a few things off. but at the moment I can't do any more updates til the jams over. But im glad you enjoyed it!

Howdy! I'm currently setting up a group of people to do a from-scratch metroidvania project in Godot 4. We are hoping for this to be more casual, so don't expect to have to put 100% into the project at all times. We have plans to produce a traditional Metroidvania with a theming of stopping an oncoming storm by keeping a light house lit using the fuel of beasts produced in the storm.

We currently have:

  • A game developer (Thats me!)
  • A Artist
  • A Writer
  • A Composer

We are looking for:

  • An additional Game Dev with at least some experience in Godot 2d. Flexible whether or not using C# or GDscript (Not looking for years of experience, but at least showing you worked in it before is good.)
  • An artist comfortable doing 2d pixel art.
  • Anyone else looking to join!

My discord is at Measured Moth#2960 to let me know if you are interested.

Hey! I got my old discord account back, which is why I assume I was removed. I greatly apologize, if you want me to still be apart of the team im still good to join, but if that that's understandable.

Apologies, I already got with a team. Forgot to mention it after, good luck on finding one though!

Sure! I can work with that. My discord handle is Measured Moth#2960.

I do apologize but I am unfamiliar with Russian. I threw what you put into a translator.
I am interested, and the knife design is really good! But I don't know if I will be able to work well with you due to the language barrier.

Howdy! I have over a year of experience under my belt developing in various engines. The two I am most familiar with are Unity and Godot, but I rather prefer Godot over other engines due to its flexible nature and my comfort with its UI.

I'm knowledgeable in C#, Python, and a little java. I've been with a fan development team before for a long term project, so I have experience with working with others. While I have my own ideas for potential games, I am always interested in hearing other's.
