Thank you! I just updated the license to CC0. You can use this asset however you like with no strings attached!

Thank you! I can’t wait to publish the update I’ve been working on after voting ends. The control issues have been fixed and all the moving platform glitches have been fixed. (less stutters and now accounts for momentum. If you have collected pickups, they do not re-appear upon returning to a level. Magic projectiles are way more visible, and so are the lightning bolts from the cloud enemy. Then theres a lot of other little improvements here and there. I’m working on the UI next.

Thank you! Graphics are definitely my strongest skill. Music is next on my to-do list after making a UI. Oh and congrats on finding the bee! 🐝

Thank you! Good suggestions for the music. This is the vibe I'm thinking of. Those platforms gave me such a headache! The player uses a Character Controller and controller.Move for movement. You have to take the movement and rotation of the platform and calculate a velocity vector then use controller.Move a second time to apply that to your character controller. This article helped me get started, but it came with a few flaws I had to fix. This build still had a problem with vertical platform movement + jumping but I already fixed that and the mouse sensitivity and plan to release an update after the voting period ends.

Thank you! I agree the mouse sensitivity needs work. Updates to come after the voting period ends!

I should quickly mention that there is only one level because I ran out of time. At the moment the hub world (the one with floating blobs of mercury) only has one level to go to, and the portal at the end of that level just takes you back to the hub world.

Next steps will be to make a UI that shows the player's number of lives, health, number of crystals collected, and number of Z's collected, add sound, and build more diverse levels. At the moment there is no significance to collecting anything, but eventually there will be. Think of the crystals like the gems from Spyro, and the Z's like the purple crystal in from crash bandicoot. Z's unlock levels, and collecting all the gems may unlock an alternate ending.

I added a bee somewhere in the game. Can you find it?

yea your right! I was finally able to line myself up with the "right" path (SE direction from the start) and counted my steps from the point I left the spot light and counted 35 "waddles". By waddles I mean the number of times his head bobs to the side wile walking. Another way to get yourself lined up correctly is to go down the "left" path 25 waddles with the camera facing the spot light, then go back without turning the camera. Then stand at the edge of the spotlight on the "right" side and count 35 waddles and stop. this is as far down that path as I have gotten. facing away from the spotlight in the direction courage is facing then jumping off at that point I do see something on my left.

Also, duckenheimer pointed out that you can use a spectrogram app and put it up to your speaker and you get a map. Lets use the waddle technique to count how many waddles until each turn on the map. The thing you are seeing to the left (as shown in the video) is probably the exit arrow on the map.

EDIT: The start square is 10 waddles.

EDIT 2: I can confirm the map is legit although graphically its not 1-1 pixel perfect. 17 waddles left, 14 forward, 10 waddles left seems to work so far. I haven’t tested Right yet.

I'm stuck on the pitch black room with a spot light on the player, and in the distance a spot light on a chair. I can see a path that leads away from the starting point in the NW direction but I don't get how you are supposed to figure out where the bend in the path is. I have two guesses as to where the path is but I just always fall. See the picture.

Great work! I love the fact that you built this with all the old software that made Myst originally. Even though this jam is over I'd love to see an update with a simple puzzle or at least something intractable.
