God, this was such a powerful experience. So many experiences in this game truly resonated and spoke with me as someone who's also questioning plurality, as someone who's trying to understand the bits and parts of herself that are actively working against her, as someone who's trying to love herself... So many scenes just either left me completely speechless, or had me covering my face in recoil as I saw myself in Zuzka's shoes, desperately trying to claw herself out of the grave they're digging for themselves as they only fall deeper and deeper.

This one hurt in all the right ways. Thank you for this.

The single most raw, unhinged, and utterly engrossing release by Chambersoft yet. Sunshine Backwards truly feels like an experience that doesn't just show vulnerability from the author's end, but instills that exact same feeling of vulnerability onto the reader themselves if you've happened to also spend a lot of time growing up in a deeply unstable, unforgiving corner of the internet where everyone tries to be the better person at the expense of one another. Playing this game felt like tearing open old wounds that I almost completely forgot ever existed. It was as painful as it was impressive. I can't recommend it enough.

A fantastic follow-up to last year's brutally earnest and wonderfully explosive VN Absolutely Perfect Specimen, Hopeless Divine: Wake of Vultures offers a different blend of catharsis for its readers in the form of a slowly bubbling narrative laced with an underlying ticking time bomb of hatred and rage that reveals itself more and more despite everyone's attempts to defuse and disarm it. Several moments in this had me wide eyed and speechless with its presentation and story beats that emanate with passion and intense, unrelenting emotion in a world that's actively hostile and uncaring to those who reside in it. Everyone who enjoyed 2023's Absolutely Perfect Specimen owes it to themselves to experience this game, too.

Equally gut-wrenching as it is cathartic, Absolutely Perfect Specimen resonated with me in so many uncannily familiar ways I don't think I've ever quite seen before. So much of the events and inner mechanisms of its character writing and development hitting so close to home, coupled with the brilliant art direction and music that perfectly complements each and every single emotional beat all culminates in one of the most memorable visual novel experiences I've ever had. I can't recommend it enough for fans of surreal horror, the inherent vulnerability in queer relationships, or anyone just looking for something out of the ordinary.

I'm going to be thinking and stirring on this one for a real long while.

these were all such a fantastic read! the pearl in particular really hit me like a ton of heavy, emotional bricks... or i guess pearls in this case? but regardless, i look forwards to seeing more projects from you in the future!!!
