Well, with the help of my wife, we're going through the game now and adding more music, adjusting the feel of certain scenes. The right music can make a scene flow more appropriately. Having her help on this has been good as I'm unable to feel the same way. Those scenes now play out a lot smoother. Also, we're noticing a scene that happens with Lavender will need to be pushed much further back into the game's story as it's currently happening far to early. Another thing that has come to my awareness is the file size limit for Itch. They permit a 1 gigabyte file size and the April 11 and April 28 builds are hovering right at that line. I may have to host the game on another site and just place a link here. Either that, or break the file up into parts with instructions to overwrite DC-A, DC-B, DC-C in that order.

Finally, I apologize for the janky structure of this post. I don't know why it's like this. All attempts to get it to format correctly don't seem to have any effect at all. Best I can tell it's just the site conflicting with the web browser.

Thank you. And yes, I really am hoping I can make something that lives up to that quality. I'm not confident in my writing at all, but I really love the characters I made for the game and have a bunch of interesting story ideas that I want to explore. I just have an issue where I feel like I'm rushing to much as far as moving from one region to the next too soon. I have the game structured better now so I can go back and add more content to each region much easier than before.

Well, the April 11th build is out. Finally got past my writers block and managed to get back to working on the story again, fixing stuffs. Trying to work on new mechanics for the game, but I'm not 100% sure how to implement all of them.

I think it is a version issue to be honest. I can't use the most up to date version of RM-MV (1.6.3) as it wont let me play-test or battle test through the database. I'm not sure why it does this, it's a problem.  When I switched to an older version (1.5.2) everything works correctly, but I have noticed some plugins haven't been working at all. If I had to guess, it's that.

Ok. Minor update to the game. Completely redesigned the collectable cards into a portraits system now with its own menu in the main menu list. For the April 1st build, you can access all portraits by interacting with a card on the table in your room.
Also, I am still looking for help with the game as I'm struggling to work on it alone. If you like the direction the game is going, please contact me and maybe we can work together.

So, got my steam back. Still sick but the brain fog has passed and I've started working on the game again full time. Really enjoying being able to work creatively again. Got a bunch of bugs fixed, including a serious soft-block issue. Also managed to fix the bedroom scenes so the room is no longer flooded with stationary npc's.

Sorry there haven't been much in the way of updates. Going from Bird Flu into Covid has really sapped my ability to do anything constructive or creative with the game. Having an assistant writer right now would help immensely.

Ok, I tried adding Yanfly's Menu plugin and followed the instructions for that, but I just got an error crash as a result. Also, even when testing using the Demo, I would still get crashes and the Book command/button wouldn't show up in the Main Menu at all. Any help would be appreciated.

Is there any kind of tutorial video to show me how to set this up? I'm really having trouble understanding what I'm supposed to do. I can't get the Book command to show up in the main menu either.

Alright, a new update. We may have an artist that is willing to replace all of the generative images with CG's. It will be a little while before any of that makes it into recent builds as we have to work out certain details first, but it's looking promising.

The 2025 Feb 23 update is a pretty small update. Added a new quest for the Ranger and tied up some loose ends for the Chemist, also added some more lore to the Crown.
Been sick since December 1st with the bird flu, then on Valentines we all got Covid again. So it's just been one illness into another and I haven't been able to do any meaningful work on the game at all.
Still looking for an assistant writer or even just people to brainstorm ideas with. PM me if you're interested.

I got a bunch more work done on the game today.  A long quest chain that handles two of the characters quest along with more lore on the Crown.

(1 edit)

Oh, I tried, the formatting of text is really dumb. I don't know if its the site itself or my web browser but it refuses to align the words in the description correctly.

True, that does make sense. I just have so much apprehension to changes to characters, story, the world. Remake was never finished and I felt like I never got closure to the story or the characters. I put 125 hours into playing that one game, I would have happily put another 125 hours in if it meant everything was completed. But now the game is being restarted again and I don't know how many years its going to take to get caught up. Just worried that story or characters interactions are going to be cut in order to make up lost time. As nice as the new engine is I would have been fine sticking with VX Ace if it meant seeing the game completed.

There's a bit, in one basement where you need to find a tool and move something away from a wall in order to find the entrance.

Pretty fun game so far, but every now and then while fishing, I'll get an error and the game will crash.

I wonder how they're going to handle the scenes with the magister of Corsix' wife, the whole plot to kill her. I know in Remaster they already completely changed Fiona's story and greatly shortened it. So I am a little concerned about how much the characters are going to be changed going forward.

Looking forward to seeing the game being remade for the third time, just sad that it's going to take years to get caught up to where the game left off in Remake.

Being a dev myself, it very much depends on if they do serious changes to things like characters or switches that would be baked into your save file. A lot of the testing we do in our game can use the same save file as we progress through the game, but if its a dramatic change to things like, when you receive an item or if an event is changed you would have to start again in order to see those changes in your game without soft-locking your game. One thing that is possible, is making multiple saves as you progress through the game and you may be able to carry over your library of saves from one build to another. That said, I ofcourse understand that it is better entirely to start with a new save each time as a player you don't have developer knowledge of any small or large changes that happen between updates.
I don't know if this response helped you at all, but I hope it was atleast useful.

Ah, ok, Kuroki did a noticeable upgrade to the art assets for stuff like the scenes from what I was able to gather by going back and playing the first edition of the game by Ker. I'm not 100% sure if it was just the art assets that were changed but I'm certain there were a number off new additional characters, but since the wiki for Remake, and well, everything for that edition of the game has magically disappeared, I can't even give examples short of sending you the build I have.

Ok, question. Harem Remake that was being done by Kuroki was never finished. Ended at the point where you are working to get the Castra back from the Ratan's. Was the original ever finished? I want to see the rest of the story, but Kuroki's everything, seems to have been removed from everyware for some reason.

I mean, I guess? Just seems out of place.

Love how the game is coming along in this third telling of the story. Lots of new interactions with the characters, new characters that didn't exist in the first two games which is nice aswell.  Only thing that bothers me is the art for the main character. Doesn't make any sense to me that someone whom was raised as a noble in his own land is ok looking like a scruffy farm-hand. Thats probably all I would change to be honest, just clean him up and make him look respectable. Otherwise, I'm looking forward to seeing the game grow and can't wait to hopefully get past where the second telling of the game left off.
