Thanks so much!
Yes, I just double checked and looks like I started on the 21st, so a week and a bit. I'm not working a regular job at the moment though, so there were a few full days hitting 3am in there.
Great feedback, thank you! Multiverse chess does sound great, to be fair.
I think the releasing one step too late issue is to do with it completing a tween and snapping to the grid so pieces line up. Could fix this by assessing where the launcher is in it's tween and potentially move it back to snap at the start of that movement if the button is pressed in the first X amount of time. Will look into it! I likely adjust my pressing because I know that's what it's doing, so I didn't pick up on it as well as others would.
Great suggestion on the button prompt too, I'm adding that now. Will hopefully get it done in time and work on a better onboarding / tutorial at a later date.
Not sure why that main menu transition triggered, that's a fun one. Maybe it registered a click on screen where the play button is before it actually showed the button. Will add a slight delay to the scene before they're active, hopefully that fixes it.
Agreed on displaying the loss of health triggers more clearly. Better (read: actually existent) tutorial will help, but could also be a lot clearer during gameplay too.
Thanks again for playing and providing great feedback!
Haha, I love this. Someone above mentioned a lack of story, but looks like you got my back.
Was definitely me experimenting with a bunch of things and I think it shows with the mix of somewhat disconnected ideas and mechanics between scenes, but I learned a bunch so it was worth it.
Thanks for taking so much time on your response, I really appreciate it!
It's definitely a tough game!
I can't make changes to it now as it's past the deadline, but one thing to keep in mind is that your bullets affect the platforms as well. So if they're not facing the way you want, give them a little pew pew at the right spot and they'll spin around.
Thank you for trying it out!
Ha, I genuinely didn't realise there was a jump button! What a duffer. So yes, it's probably fine as is with a little controls reminder for people like me.
Awesome re: house upgrade, maybe a little bar that fills up 1/5th every upgrade? Would get me with that just one more run and I can fill up the thing kind of dopamine hit. I must have been so close!
I really like the stinky thing as a potential upgrade/sense of progression path. Quirky and not over the top like a generic prophecy to save the world thing. You're just a dude wanting to get clean so you can socialise a bit. :D
Look forward to seeing it again in a couple weeks!
Quite a fun little core game loop! I dig it.
Didn't jive with all of the humour personally, but that's me. Can pet the dog though, so automatic +1 of course.
I did manage to soft lock myself immediately by climbing up onto the boat from the little walkway in front of it and wasn't able to get back down. Likely an easy fix.
Fun experience that could be expanded on in cool ways. I didn't get heaps far but would like to see the tent change aesthetically etc. (this may happen with later upgrades, I got about 4 upgrades in I think). Also a stink meter would be nice, so I knew what I was working towards in terms of gettin' fresh.
Great job!
