Hello! To tie into this event, I've created a 3 month long writing challenge that meshes the idea of the 100kQ4 Challenge and Camp NaNo together for a fun challenge for the length of the Jam. You don't have to be participating in the Jam to do this challenge, but since you're reading this, I assume you are lol.
WHAT
You get to choose your word count goal. I've suggested setting either the same or more words every month for 3 months. It doesn't have to be 100k words, as I know that's a lot for some people in 3 months! It can be, though. That's what I'll be aiming for, because I felt like that was the perfect amount of words to keep me a little bit challenged without burning me out or feeling impossible.
HOW
You can post about participating using the #3MonthWritingChallenge hashtag, keep track of your words publicly for accountability, etc. I'll be creating a group chat on social media if there's enough people interested in hyping each other up, so also keep a lookout for that! I'm not setting any hard rules, except the dates, because that's when the jam is running, and what you write for Hot Wet Queer Summer MUST be written between June 1st and August 31st. Other than that, follow your heart! You can focus on one project, or several smaller ones, you can set your word count to anything you think is doable.
WHY
Accountability, community, and fun!! I have been seeking out similar themed events to the NaNo events, and while the 100kQ4 event was a wonderful replacement for NaNoWriMo, I also really love participating in the Camp NaNo events as well because they're typically lower pressure and focus more on things other than novels.
