I understand how you are feeling, after all we made that hard on purpose since the prototype have 5 levels only and logically speaking if you enter a dark cave or dungeon what are the chances you can discover your way out?
The secret to finishing the game is by trial and error, you enter, discover, die and repeat with better strategy and more knowledge.
I would be really happy if you try to finish the whole thing and reply the this message once you do. :).
