Hey! I’ve been trying to run the experience on my Mac, but unfortunately, it seems to be incompatible with my OS (Sonoma 14.5).
Currently, I’m a PhD student working at the intersection of virtual exhibitions and games. I had the chance to try The Zium Gallery (the only experience I could run on my Mac), and I absolutely loved it. It was the first time a virtual exhibition truly captured my attention.
I noticed several clever design choices, such as the QR codes—genius! They allowed me to dive deeper into the contextual content while staying immersed in the experience. I was also impressed by how you managed to evolve the classic "white cube" exhibition model. Having a space that draws inspiration from physical environments gave users the opportunity to explore other areas and seamlessly return to the main space.
What I found particularly remarkable was how the spatial design, while rooted in elements of real-world exhibition spaces, was reimagined in a way that felt uniquely suited to the virtual medium. This approach created a cohesive and immersive experience, allowing freedom of exploration while maintaining a sense of structure.
Additionally, I loved the ability to get so close to the artworks "hanging" on the walls. It almost felt as if I were stepping into another space entirely.
