TL;DR Game does not use AI, the exe was safe to download/run as far as my scans went, game is very creative, could use some more work.
I thoroughly appreciate that this game does not appear to have used AI - My girlfriend and I both enjoyed the art style. The overall game loop was all right, I got kinda bored after 60-70 monsters in though.
Some of the relationship tasks felt a bit difficult to do, the ones about finishing the bullet-hell a bunch or getting like 7m highscore felt hard cause the bullet-hell felt kinda janky, but I did sort of figure out a good rhythm of movement - though it was difficult to use wasd + hit the number keys at the same time.. admittedly I did not try the arrow keys, they might have worked, but not sure.
I loved the creative descriptions behind everything, and putting together the world, in my mind. I also wasn't really sure what the Ascension Power stuff did(or what would happen once I hit Ascend, but I did figure out that it just adds your gathered Ascension Power to your current AP.), but I think it was just about improving your stats, to be able to make it farther/kill more monsters.
There were occasional spelling mistakes but nothing major, and I did have fun with it for a bit. I really appreciate all of the heart put into the game, and wish you future success.

I have been thoroughly enjoying playing through this and discovering more effective ways to get farther. Glad that it looks like you're pretty on top of things here, and I think any complaint I could've had has probably already been mentioned by others. I look forward to seeing what else you do with it, and can't wait to play it on Steam too.
Edit: Oh, I suppose one question I could ask - do you happen to have any idea if the save from the browser version will be ported to Steam? I'm not sure if the way it works is any different or not, but it was something I was curious about. I'd understand if it is not possible, but.. I do have hope.
It was a lot of fun going through each level and figuring out how to beat the heroes. It was a little confusing at first figuring out how the money worked differently between each difficulty, it seemed, but it wasn't really troublesome. I did enjoy that each boss had pretty different mechanics for fighting off the heroes, and liked the different themed-upgrades you could get for them. While I did get it for 100% off when it first released, I would say it is definitely worth the $5. A great concept for a game, a nice change-up to the common setup, and I would love to see more bosses too. Cheers!
