It's most of our team's first game jam and making a game ourselves, so things like checking aspect ratio weren't on our radar, and by the time we noticed it only works on 16:9 aspect ratio we had no time left to fix it :(

The game level isn't infinite and actually isn't too long, so the score would be trying to beat your high score. But a furthest height would've been a ggood idea!

Our level designer did intentionally make the game difficult and didn't leave any safe spots, although that may have been a bit too evil :)

We did think of moving the gauge indicator to be next to the player, but didn't manage to get back to it before the jam ended.

Definitely agree about the sharp difficulty spike, if we had a bit more time to playtest it definitely would've been changed up. There aren't any checkpoints, as the gameplay loop consists of improving your best time after you beat the game, although that has proven to be challenging to everyone who has played the game.

Most of us haven't used Unity before so we didn't think of renaming the build so it was an oversight, but it's also because we ran out of time to make sure everything is clean, which is also why we didn't manage to get a web version ready. Thank you for the offer to help though!

I think not being able to aim with mouse and only having one chance to jump adds to gameplay skill in timing, making sure every press counts.
Also, if you manage to win, the game turns from a rage game into a speed-running game, and improving the time it takes you to beat the game is part of the gameplay loop, which is why there aren't any checkpoints.

But do agree that the overall difficulty is a bit too high! Thank you very much for playing our game, and for your feedback!
Btw, glad someone has acknowledged how the camera follows the shovelhead and the player, I put a good amount of work into just that feature :)
