half of what you said is skill issues, but I do recognize that yeah the process is kind of a pain at the beginning. as a developer myself it was easy for me to download it as I had the usual developer intuition to find stuff, but I guess normal users would not be able to use it as straightforward as I did…

bro taproom is where you’re meant to download it…

So, you may know that if the app is already open, opening the app again or running again the cider command on linux will just try to open a new cider instance, instead of focusing the window. It's a mess because the only way to re-open the app when it's in the system tray is in fact, from the system tray, and this goes against many people's workflows, because maybe somebody doesn't want to keep their system tray visible just for cider to be opened, or maybe I want to have a keyboard shortcut to open cider but I can't.

So my request is, if this could be done, to make so that the cider command focuses the already running instance in case cider is already running.

Same, .deb on arch linux. and the AppImage too, is having the same issue. it seems this happens since the release of cider 2.6.0 for linux.

Hey I'm sorry, but don't be so aggressive. I discovered it like 30 minutes later posting that comment but forgot to clarify

Hey, a few reasons have been given for this.
It's difficult to package electron forge applications for arch. I'm sure this is not an excuse, but there is an AUR package called cider2-bin atm, or you can use the flatpak/AppImage at the moment. I'm with you, I'm also getting frustrated for this, but I doubt this is gonna do any better.

but isn't it kinda illegal for the fact that cider2 is paid, and that package is provided for free?

you should try v2.6.0 and see if the error still occurs. unfortunately the 2.6.0 hasn't been provided yet as a .pacman, so I suggest using the AppImage until the .pacman gets published.

why did you update every package but the arch linux one? the .pacman one?

Nevermind, my apple id disabled itself explicit content. re-enabled it from apple id settings and now works on cider.

I approved long time ago to listen to explicit songs. I hade some changes in my Apple ID lately and it required login again. I logged in again to Apple Music and now explicit songs seem to be playable but just get skipped in playlists. if you need I can give proofs and demonstrations.

Hey pal, had this issue a while ago.
Are other apps working with RPC or is Cider the only one?
Also, have you seen this on the ArchWiki? https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Discord#Enabling_rich_presence_on_Flatpak
