The early 2000s aesthetic and overall vibe are incredible. I wasn't even around during that era, so this isn't nostalgia in the usual sense (I don't actually have any memories of that time) but the game still feels strangely nostalgic. It captures that atmosphere perfectly.
What stood out to me the most was the constant sense of dread. There's always this feeling that something awful could happen at any moment. The horror is subtle, but incredibly effective. As a woman, I found the protagonist's experiences especially unsettling because a lot of that fear felt familiar. The game does a great job of capturing the vulnerability and tension that come with navigating situations shaped by misogyny, and it made the atmosphere hit even harder.
The characters are also ridiculously attractive, but what I love is how real they feel. They don't come across as idealized fantasy men, they feel like actual people, with all the complexity and messiness that implies.
Thank you for making a game that doesn't feel like corny slop. I'm so tired of stories that rely on clichés, forced dialogue, or try too hard to be quirky. Big Bad Dogs feels grounded, atmospheric, and genuine!!!!

and the characters!!! i missed them way more than i expected
i’ve been waiting for this update for a while and it really didn’t disappoint at all. now i’m just super excited for the full game bc i’m 100% playing it
