I think I found a bug. After I exhausted all the dialogue, got pretty much all the paper except 1 (which im pretty sure is in the unlocked closet), Thomas Brickman was stated to have gotten out of the house at one point, but I can't ask him about it, I could ask the teenagers, but not him, leading me to not be able to progress.

Also was I supposed to use the crowbar to open the unlocked door? How do you get it to open?

The main game mechanic is so well done! I admit some of them I was annoyed that the image is right there, but it wasn't registering, maybe it's not the right angle or some pixels are off. But I love the entire execution!

Love how all the 3d images are done though, good job! Story was good in the most bittersweet sense of the word.

Thank you for adding the crt removal option on the web build! The first time I tried to play, it wasn't there. But anyways, I love it! With a lot of polishing, I can really see this being a standalone game, namely with how you can prevent people from just bruteforcing it, that's what I did with the suspect age since I didn't think there were any?? I think the hat was supposed to clue you in, but it was too vague for me.

Love the artstyle and music, great work!

Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it.

Thank you so much! I love your game too! I don't have a Mac to test it on, but I'm glad it works.

Thank you so much! I did have the idea to have a hint button of sorts, but couldn’t implement in time, maybe I can have an update sometime that adds it.

It was really overwhelming at first, but when I figured out there were only 4 people that's relevant, it became a lot easier and really fun to figure out! It was a bit annoying when I had to restart when I got it wrong at the end, but alas.

I loved figuring out how things happened! How all the threads connected was really clever and intuitive. My only gripe was that I wished the numbers can be flipped and it'll be fine.

And also that when you summit the report I wished it tells you that hey you need to fill out everything, because I incorrectly assumed that well that person didn't really kill this person via this method, they just did so indirectly, so I'll just leave it blank. When it kept telling me you had some details wrong, not oh you need to input the person responsible.

Otherwise awesome game concept and story!

I loved it! My only gripe is my own stupidity not gonna lie, especially in regards to a certain number, turns out all I had to do was flip it around! A bunch of my time playing was wondering why it didn't work, being frustrated then being happy it worked though I had to brute force it. Maybe if it worked with the numbers being flipped it would be ok.

Otherwise the way it all led to the end was really great!

I found a bug I think, after playing the first 'route', I played the second, before the part of the guy in his house with the old tv that doesn't work anymore, it went straight to the part in the cemetery with Damion,  should mention i selected the option to go to the cemetery before this, i also had all the items needed to get to this point

Really lovely pixel art and atmosphere!

Especially love the cutscenes, in particular when Damion just barged into the room with the flickering screen and of course the ending cutscene!

Would love some options for adjusting sound effects though, in particular the text sounds were too loud compared to the music and everything else.

The text speed is perfect for when you're reading out loud, but not so much when you're reading silently, would love an option to speed it up.

The map icons are a bit wonky, like with the mainstreet and the pub you can only select it if you aim your cursor at the lower part as opposed to the whole thing.

Overall with some additional settings and polish, I really like it!

What's the difference between the 2 'routes'? Played them both, nothing so far, I think. And are there multiple endings?

I think you forgot to update the web build with that feature?

I didn't make the backgrounds! Just modified them for my use a bit, one day I'll replace them with my own art since I didn't have much time. Credit goes to ansimuz, craftpix.net and imakesound for them.

update: I got through it, I was not only being an idiot with this puzzle but that was the wrong screenshot too, here's the winning screenshot though:

the last 2 levels stumped me for a bit, it turns out positioning is key in this game, but when I did arrive at a solution, it was really clever!

I will say though on the last level, the way the blocks obscure the paths behind them confused me so greatly, I'm assuming that's intentional? Positioning the boar so it landed exactly on the first destructible block then switching to the others was really cool! Same with the last one wherein the boar had to be behind the gate so it can push the log to the button.

Love to see more of this, great job! <3

I love the concept and art of this! Very unique puzzles and the order of how you do things matters a lot. I could see this as a full game if you polish the mechanics enough. If you dismount under certain conditions you can go out of bounds, but it's easy enough to just go back in, you can also get stuck in a block, but it's fine I can just restart the level. There are times I couldn't dismount if it's a small enough space but I'll just go to an open area and it'll be fine.

You also can't use abilities while on the mount so unless there's a solution I'm missing I'm stuck at this level.

I tried to use the boar alone to go through, but the others got left behind.

Was going to continue to try to beat this level, but it didn't save my progress :(

Banger writing, especially with the 'the lungs of the planet suffer with you' and all its variants, keep it up! Awesome music, would you put it up somewhere to listen to it?

Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it :D

theres an option that you need to tick when you upload your file to itch.io, ‘this file will be played in browser’ its below your uploaded file

is this meant to be run on browser??

what file do i open and how do i run it? is the second zip file meant to be played in the browser?

the last music puzzle was wrong, i spent a few minutes going c-d-e-g over and over again, until c-d-e-f was correct
other than that, i didn't encounter any issues, and i just have to say:

holy shit the art and story is insane, i was fully invested and i was convinced i was gonna get jumpscared, the imagery in the last floor is insane especially with the guardian room, cutscenes were awesome, lore is insane, hard to believe you made it within 2 weeks

awesome description of 'The rising sun has no capacity for empathy', was excited to play it when i saw it

i would love to see this as a full game one day, 10/10, looking forward to what you cook up next

most of the gameplay is waiting :(

my ability to properly type became nonexistent when i played this lmao
