I read the lyrics like it was rap actually XD I know you didn't have time but I'd love to see this with music! I personally also like the meta joke of characters mentioning there's no time to finish this game etc lol. Nice work!

Nice short horror game, I always love the classic cutesy rpg maker games with effed up endings XD The drawings are really pretty too :) I noticed the monster's name is "judge" backwards? XD correct me if I'm wrong, but its bc I also like giving backwards-words as names for my characters lol. Honestly this game may not fit the "Visual Novel" genre so much (for the VN Game Jam), but it is a great rpg maker game! Good work!
SPOILER-Y REVIEW
This was awesome!! My first time playing a horror, action-packed VN and it delivers! Honestly when MC shared his story at the beginning and mentioned how he got rid of the girl's doppelganger, my overthinking-mind thought "what if he didn't and it's the doppelganger that survives?" So I was SO happy when the story turned out to be that way!! I personally love canon "bad endings" where the villain wins XD Or maybe it's not the end because it technically didn't say that the MC and the girl died? :D
Anyway, everything else is also gorgeous. I love the art and the little animations, really added a nice touch to it :) Good work you two!!
Omg I'm genuinely so (pleasantly) surprised that you got the true end on first try? And the things you would actually say yourself!? :D You might be the first one! Others usually get the normal end first to the point I start questioning myself whether I have a weird sense of what are the "nice things to say" XD For this game I'm letting the players decide their own image of the MC, but since it's a very interesting coincidence (and how you got true end first try) I will tell you that the MC is, canonically British XD
And yeah coffee rocks!! I'm more of a coffee person as well :) ((definitely not because I'm sleep deprived or anything hahah))
Anyways! Thank you so much for playing!!
Thank you so much for playing, for the comment, and the suggestion!!
You're right, I planned to use Renpy, but unfortunately due to irl stuff I didn't have the time to learn it first :") I planned to add a save option on each choice, but thought that since this is route-based and you have to repeat the whole thing anyway, it wasn't that necessary. I also definitely should make a button to skip stuff though! I hope when I finally get into Renpy I will no longer have these accessibility issues ;; Thank you!
Thank you for the very detailed review!!
-The soup comment was interesting! I actually googled first whether you "drink" or "eat" soup, and I am aware of the differences across cultures and languages, but decided to specifically follow English grammar-wise for his not-so-thoughtful rant XD
-About the UI, you are very right :") As stated in my devlog, I'm also not proud of it, and due to time limits I had to use a software I'm already comfortable with, that is not really designed for Visual Novels ;;
Edit: forgot to mention, you can make the text appear faster by long-pressing the enter key!
I'll definitely take your review into account! And thanks for playing and getting all the endings!
Nice spooky game! The graphics are sooo stunning! And I didn't know the latest RPG Maker is capable of this style!
Took me a while to finally get the non-bad ending. I hope there is a guide? And the true end really made me... Overthink, lol. Idk if at the end, she did what she did because she just reflected and became more positive, or because she knew that it's (gonna be) the end of the world... either by black hole or alien invasion??? I don't know, what I do know is that this game has made me interested in cosmic horror! Great job!
What a great VN!! I love the concept of unaliving people in your dream that try to unalive you irl XD Cool spooky way of redemption arc! I'm interested to see how the story goes and definitely how the MC will end up... >:3 Anyway, the UI and the art is also amazing! It's my first time playing a mix of VN and RPG-style combat too! I'll be looking forward for the next chapters :) Ganbatte kak~
First of all, I didn't know Renpy could do that, so I was really "whoa"-ed seeing all that animation and the comic-like text bubbles! It was really cool! The storyline is so good as well, spooky turned sweet! It was a bit hard for me to read the text due to the color, but I think that's the only shortcoming. I enjoyed it! :)
Nice little game! Got to 228! (after some first attempts that would get me no more than 20 lol) I think it would be nice to have a personal highscore board, and maybe increase the difficulty a little bit as the number progesses. But yeah it is for a cozy game jam and you have succeded in making it cozy indeed!
Thanks for the comment! This issue is probably caused by skipping too fast on the dialogues before that scene (the clubroom scene). I have an alternative that are not prone to bugs in mind but I couldn't test it in time for the game jam ""
If you do decide to test if doing the above will really solve the issue, please do let me know!
I'm so glad you find it funny!! The language jokes will always be sorta inside-joke type to those who speak that language so I was afraid it might be a hit or miss :")
Thanks for noticing the 🥺 eyes one! Here's an extra detail since you noticed that; any dialogue with "" means that they're acting! Those without it are their own words as actual characters ;)
Thank you so much for playing and leaving a review!
Thanks for playing! Yes I actually took inspiration from Gakuen Handsome for the uncanny sharp chin lol XD
Congrats on getting true end! And I'm glad you liked it, because I was a bit insecure that it's too... inside-story ish(?), as they're my actual ocs with real stories XD
Thanks for finding the purposely badlydrawn cute! To be honest I thought Hon's face icon is drawn too well XD I need to learn how to draw mere badly lol
All in all, thanks again for playing and leaving a review! :)
