The broken Spanish is intentional, according to one of the writers.

Ah, thank you for the response! Good luck with the update!

Okay, so I played through the whole game, and I could only ever get the ending where I fail to solve the mystery (either that, or I'm softlocked). Some bugs I encountered:

  • When I go to talk to someone on Days 3-5 (in either the Alley or the Church), I get met with a brief flash of a woman before the game immediately exits out of the dialogue screen, with no ability to converse with her. On a similar note, it's possible to end up with a negative number of action points in places like the alley. Once you hit this stage, the game traps you in this area and you can't leave.
  • When trying to uncover the culprit on the final day, I get told that I still need to uncover more evidence, but the game won't let me leave after midnight, so I'm just softlocked in the final portion. Due to the lack of save slots, I cannot revert to a previous save and have to start a new game.

Maybe it's different in the downloadable version (this is all in the browser version), but these are all the bugs I could remember. Also, can't select settings or the credits menu.

Ah, gotcha! Didn't think of it like that.

Hey, just to be clear, you forgot to mark the web build as playable in browser. It's a downloadable currently.

As outlined in the FAQ, any engine works as long as the end result can be considered a visual novel at its core.

I'm not sure what you mean by this.

Demos are allowed. I'm not sure where the confusion is on that part.

I really only ask that you submit something playable before the deadline.

I love Mili, you have no idea.

As someone with her own fair share of headcannons, I totally get you. Just wanted to share my lore if you were interested.

That is definitely a paragraph. I'm glad you enjoyed the VN.

A few things:

  1. That particular scene with the Mirror also happens to be my favorite, along with the stuff after it, and it's good that you like it also. (haha) The camera work is also something I'm quite proud of.
  2. Okay, so maybe Perle quoting AM is a bit corny, but I will admit...that was the intention. Perle herself is a hammy drama queen to begin with, so I felt that it'd fit to have her say something equally hammy. The project is full of similar shout-outs, too. (Ninon quoting Glinda the Good Witch from the Wizard of Oz movie, the phrase "Poor Unfortunate Soul" pops up twice, Mimi is modeled after Little My from the Moomin franchise, Cerebrite is the name of a Mili song, etc.)
  3. Funny you mention that, because Perle being a non-human was a concept I played around with (and it would make her further mirror Ninon), but ultimately chose to have her be a born human since I felt it'd make the message stronger. And Perle eavesdropped on Ninon while she was talking with Amadeus (right up to her seeing her drink the Elixir), she just put two and two together based on that.
  4. Merfolk can grow to impressive sizes, with the largest merfolk being made the rulers. Lorelai is just naturally big. Also, I'm afraid that Lorelai and Petraea aren't relatives (they showed no familial recognition in the good end, not to mention they're two different species). Petraea would definitely be a cool auntie-type for Ninon and her sisters, though.

You're welcome~

I wish you luck on this project, but just so you know, it is possible to post devlogs on their own without it being tied to any one game.

Simply head to Dashboard > Posts > New Post

That's fine. Just make sure it complies with the rules and anything goes, really.

Thanks so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed!

Yeah, fish can be pretty cute. Koi fish are the first thing that come to mind, love those guys~

(Btw, I counted, and there are approximately 30 full CGs, not counting variants. That isn't even get into the 60+ mini CGS. I really did make a lot of art for this project, didn't I? (lol). I suppose that's just 'cause I tend to use visuals to fill in narrative gaps, since I'm more versed in dialogue than narration)

As long as it fits the template of "part-human, part aquatic creature", then maybe that could work. It depends on the species in question.

The standard stuff, such as  brainstorming, researching, plot-outlining, team building, concept sketches. Asset-creation and writing are also allowed to an extent, but it's preferable that a majority of that be done during the jam period.

Hey, the browser version doesn't seem consistent with the download version. As in, the downloadables are apparently an earlier, less finished version of the game. Just letting you know.

You're welcome!

Hey, you mixed up the labelling on the releases. The mac release is labeled as Windows, for instance.

Aaah, thanks so much! Ninon is actually quite a cutie, isn't she?

I was actually quite worried that the story (or, the way it was told) wouldn't be all that well-recieved, but the reception thus far's giving me hope.

Also, without giving too much away, let's just say that the hard times are still quite a bit ahead for Ninon and Vivien.

I do hope I can make the full release the best it can be. 💖

A quick bug(?) report:

Whenever I try to sell meat when I don't have any, then take any other action, the game proceeds as if I actually did sell that piece of meat, meaning I can earn credits and never lose any.

All in all, as a mermaid fan, I'm intrigued by this game. Good luck on the full thing!

The Simon-Says sequence at the start seems to be bugged (in the browser version, at least). Sometimes, it'll ask me for an input consisting of two notes or just one, when all inputs are required to have three, so I input the correct notes, but I fail anyway because I need three total, and the sequence will not advance if I don't put in a three note sequence.

Love me a good dollmaker. Tried to make my Vivien and Ninon (human ver) in it (missing some details, but shhh).

It's fine. Still, thanks for the response!

UPDATE: So, I removed the space after the comma in the text tag and that seems to have fixed it (albeit temporarily?).

Hey, so this plugin doesn't seem compatible with certain text shaders like the Jitter. I always get an error like:

I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred.
While processing text tag {shader=jitter:u__jitter=1.0,{cps=*0.06666666666666667} in '{shader=jitter:u__jitter=1.0,{cps=*0.06666666666666667} {/cps}3.0}example text{/shader}!'.

Hey, I saw this topic, and I was wondering if you were willing to work with me on my Otome Jam project. I have been seeking a sprite and/or CG artist, if either of those are your forte.

Just letting you know, there's a typo in the title ("cradle" was spelt with a second "d" as opposed to the 1 "d" in the cover art)

Holy dang, I'm impressed by the production value of this whole thing. Almost like a little movie!

Great work!

There is now, thanks for the response!
