The new character will chase you down and force dialog. It will then kill you. Don't let them touch you if you don't want a bad end.

I have forced dialog through just explaining that my character cannot die. Then RP'd using a spell that forces her to understand and speak, all the dialog I get makes her sound like a guaranteed bad end. Her dialog loops and even using RP to force info or actions results in her tearing my head off, I just get around it by saying I cannot die every time I enter dialog. No results for positive interactions though. Considering she looks like a wendigo, it kind of makes sense. Disappointing though. She has a cool model. Creative use of "I cannot die" can make the scenario more interesting. I managed to get a neat story of both characters being stuck in a loop, she can't stop killing me, and I can't die so we are both prisoners.
That new character is hard to figure out. She is interesting though. I can't help but wonder if I need to encounter her at certain times or a different location. Spoiler free edit: Bad ends abound and I cannot figure out how to get around it. Is it hard coded to always end like this or is there a trick to it? I even tried brute forcing my way past it but it just loops back to a bad end. I even tried catching her asleep in her lair and that didn't work.
That new update couldn't come fast enough. I keep getting issues with dialog in both Nemo and Mistral Small with both 5.0 and 5.0b. Either they start talking for me still, or the AI narrates from the NPC's point of view, for example it describes Hayden leaving his house as "Steps out of your house, rubbing your arms against the chill of the early morning. Your gaze fall on me, leaning against the wall, quarterstaff in hand." I can generally brute force my way past it but it's SO jarring.
I was screwing around with Mistral Small, I also noticed one more thing. The AI for all male characters, defaults to the same personality once you get higher relationships. Usually starts saying things like "lucky I don't throw you out." or "I should be charging you." None of the characters seem to stick to their normal personalities. This was noted for Gareth, Hayden and Darian. I haven't tried to see if it applies to Aldric or the other characters. They just seem to default to an aggressive, insulting and threatening personality after a certain point. I did try forcing a personality change, but it would always slip back into this new default.
I have run into a few scenarios where the AI would start to insert dialog for my character. Is there a trick to getting it to stop? Or should I reload the save? I tried just hijacking the conversation and changing the subject to see if I can get it to stop but that doesn't seem to work. I REALLY dislike it creating dialog for my character because it always ruins the narrative I am going for. I also occasionally get OOC text saying stuff like "let me know if you would like to continue!" It can be pretty jarring.
Is there a way to increase or decrease the amount of Vram the game is seeing after it has already been set? I checked to see if I could get the option to pop up again but I don't see it. I might also just be blind. I accidentally set the Vram to 12 and it has made the game take 30 seconds or a minute to generate dialog when previously it only took a few seconds. I am working with a 4080 Super so I have 16 gigs to throw at it. This was with Mistrel to be clear.
I did read in a previous update that some tweaks were being made to try and make room for more future characters. I hope that goes smoothly. I also wouldn't mind rp combat, I generally just make my character an asshole or just keep poking Gareth, Oriana or Darian for combat rp. I would like to see a character that is openly antagonistic towards the PC, some more conflict would be interesting.
That seems like it would take up a lot of the AI's capabilities... I would rather it generate better dialog responses and have better memory than generate images. The combat rp potential would be nice but again, I would rather see the current story generation be improved over that. Or some new characters. I don't pretend to know what I am talking about but, I imagine the Mistral model should add new content just due to having more Vram access, given that most of the content is determined by the player and how they do things.
Is it possible to get a copy of the original Kane dialog portrait? I tried to screencap the original portrait from character select on the prior version but I am not savvy with image doctoring so I was having issues blowing up the image without destroying the quality. Or would it be possible to add a toggle to change the dialog image between prior versions? I noticed the Aldric images in the custom character folder to help walk through how to create a custom character, would something like that be possible to get? I am just kind of spit balling.
I don't know the limitations or what goes into this game but I think the option to interject in a conversation would be nice. It would fix the endless chains of nonsense I mentioned in my previous post. Just a way to input a new sentence and redirect the conversation instead of needing to keep pressing continue or leave in order to get things back on track.
I am really enjoying this game but I have noticed that they AI tends to talk in circles creating prolonged rants that just repeat when there are multiple characters. Usually it keeps saying generic stuff like "blank is waiting for a response with suspense" and, "blank is excited to hear what comes next." It tends to repeat variations of these several times per character before it allows me to add any input. It REALLY drags dialog out and makes it feel like the AI is stuck in a loop.
Rosalyn continues to spiral out of control in my game. She keeps giving me 100 stacks of Elixer of Surrender which also ensures that I cannot move until I drop them. I am now also 100% certain that Hayden is correct and that Rosalyn is trying to steal my character's soul. Gareth now also believes that she is practicing dark magic.
