Cute game!

Rotating curses is a fun idea albeit the ones in the game either change too little or make the current section impossible so you'll have to wait 10 seconds, so in execution they could've been better. Fav curse is darkness because it makes no section impossible but still has the biggest impact otherwise

There should've definitely been variable jump height depending on if you hold down or simply tap A once, like there is with most NES side scroller games. Maybe there also could've been some incentive to climb the tower quicly and not stand around waiting waiting for a less bad curse.

To get back from the credits scene press "X" (the B button on the NES gamepad)

To advance further in what I assume you mean to be the initial opening cutscene, press "Z" (or "Y" if you're on a QWERTZ keyboard, this is the A button on the NES gamepad). Additionally you can skip the text forward in the opening cutscene by pressing "K" (Start on the NES Gamepad).

Thanks!

Thank you <3 The game is still in active development, and its current state is the result after only after the 1 month FNAF game jam. A lot of stuff will still be reworked, including for instance a better tutorial that's not text vomit, and we have plans for a fourth animatronic that comes in later at night to mess with download progress that forces you to use all the cams. Thank you so much for checking out the game, and thank you for the feedback!! It'll be taken into consideration for future updates

Thank you! It was made in the Godot engine

Hey all, I'm a game dev looking to participate in the jam. Our team currently consists of a musician/SFX artist and myself, and we're still looking for someone to do NES-style pixel art assets.

If you're interested feel free to hit me up on Discord: @morganaoftheend

I've sent you a friend request on Discord

Hello! I'm a Godot game dev who has so far only made 48h GameJam submissions and wishes to extend their expertise with a bigger game, such as a 1 month game jam game. I've sent you a Discord friend request, my Discord is MorganaOfTheEnd

For the lore behind the red pentagram, check out the last installment in the PROFESSORQUEST EXTENDED UNIVERSE (PQEU) released in last year's Winter Game Jam, PROFESSORQUEST. Maybe you will find your answers there...

Although the concept is a little silly as far as interpretations of the theme go, and the graphics are nothing special, the gameplay is surprisingly addicting. It definitely needs a little more polish (for example, burnout mode starting immediately can catch you off guard and kill you instantly because you're still in a friends radius) but it's really really fun overall

The art is really well done and music being composed by on-site people is very impressive for a jam. That said, the gameplay is pretty stale, with your punishment for picking up more items just being that the game gets slower and more boring.

I also never encountered a robber while trying for a good bit, though that might just be unlucky on my end.

Performance is not very good. Games like these should calculate the physics of water and sand as larger chunks instead of each pixel individually... the idea is very neat, though, having to dig for gold.
