A pokemon can have multiple instances of the same attack as can be seen here. The second instance he learned mid battle and can also be used normally.
Apparently, if one checks a pokemon's stats mid battle this can happen. This is the mid battle stats window immediately after the battle. This window persisted through the rest of the battle and after. Not even I know how I got it to go away.
