Custom Pixel Art Assets for Games – Lucas Kich

Hi. I'm Lucas.

I'm a Pixel Artist working remotely from a small town in southern Brazil.

Over the past 17 years, I've created pixel art for a wide range of indie games (a bunch of them made with RPG Maker), and I explored many different visual styles. My background includes in-house roles at two game studios, years of freelancing, and over the past recent years, full-time work on Sun Haven, an indie title that has sold over one million copies.

I specialize in pixel art and animation for top-down (RPG perspective) games, creating characters, environments, props, and every other in-game assets.

Today, I offer short-term work-for-hire and commission services creating high-quality pixel art assets for games and other creative projects.

FAQ

1. How do I commission you?

I have a custom pixel art shop on my own website ( https://hire.lucaskich.com/ ) where I've tried to make the commissioning process much easier and more transparent for both of us. I currently offer 25 custom asset options, including characters, tilesets, icons, logos, props, animations, autotiles, and many others. Each asset in the shop has a predefined scope. I've carefully set these limits to keep things fair for you and me, but if the size, number of frames, or other limits don't fit your needs, you can still hire me by the hour, like in the previous era of this shop.

To commission me, you can order any of the assets from my website's shop. On each asset page, you’ll find a form where you can add your contact info, describe your request, and upload references before completing the payment. From there, we continue communication via email.

2. How's your payment arrangement?

If you're ordering a custom asset from my website, after filling the form, you'll have the option to pay with Credit Card, Paypal or Wise/Bank Transfer. Easy peasy.

Sometimes you need a larger canvas, more frames, a custom setup, or simply a different request not yet offered in my custom asset catalog. In that case, you can hire me by the hour here. To get started, a minimum of 2 hours is required upfront. Any additional time is billed after delivery, or weekly for ongoing projects (you’ll receive invoices in each case).

3. How much will my commission cost?

It varies by asset, but all asset types have prices listed in my website. For reference, a starting price for a small icon is currently $9, a character customization (when you already have a character base) is currently $49, a custom character base with a 4-direction walk-cycle is currently $79, a basic tileset (1 terrain tile, 2 small environment props, 1 medium envirnoment prop) is currently $129.

For hourly work, my rate is $30/h.

4. What are your terms and conditions?

Refer to the following link for the most updated Terms and Conditions.

5. Do you make assets for all engines?

Yes!

6. May I see some examples of your art?

Sure, but these are personal or commissioned artworks I made for people who hired me, so bear in mind they're not free resources – don't use or individually share them anywhere.

Thanks for the answer.

Hi,

I'd like to request a feature for this extension, if possible. I'm willing to pay. It's a stepped zoom based on the window height. So the game zooms in or out in 100% increments depending on your window or device display resolution. For reference, that could be:

<= 360p : 100% zoom
<= 720p: 200% zoom
<= 1080p: 300% zoom
<= 1440p: 400% zoom
<= 4K: 500% zoom
> 4K: 600% zoom

Those conditions should both affect fullscreen and windowed mode, that is, instead of stretching the game, it would zoom in or out whenever reaching those heights. I made two GIF mockups for visualization:

Thx!
