Thanks for your question. Yes, to be fair to everyone that would be a good solution.

Hi all,

Thank you all for your wonderful submissions to the Alt+F4 Game Jam hosted last week, the jury is looking forward to ranking them.

We saw that there were a few questions regarding the ranking, for which we apologize; we didn't realize you couldn't see how we rank from your end. As you might know, LTU offers a Game Design degree and a Game Software Development concentration for its Computer Science degree. When we host our internal game jams, the jury looks at three main aspects of each submission:

  • Player Experience, including mechanical polish, level design, user friendliness, etc.
  • Visual Systems, which addresses the professionality of the game's visuals, the asset quality, the user interface, etc.
  • Theme Adherence, or how close the game adhered to the theme of the game jam (in this case "Rebooting"), this includes creative use of the theme and any interesting conversations sparked by its usage.

The winner is considered the game that best addresses all three aspects.

We are very happy to have received many submissions for the game jam. We appreciate your interest. However, since we have many wonderful games submitted, we want to give the jury enough time to experience all the games properly, so we'll be extending the review period. Winners will now be announced on Friday, October 4th at 11:59PM.

We also afforded extra time to jammers who participated in person. As this  game jam was a part of the ALT+F4 conference, the theme was announced in person before the opening keynote. Because of that the in person participants were not able to start on time, and lost some time with the keynote talks. So if you were there in person, and lost time because of the keynote talks, the organizers took your names and allowed extra time (2 hours) so that every participant had exactly 48 hours to submit their games.

When the ranking is complete, it will be available on the jam page and we will reach out to the winners to award them their prizes. Thank you all very much for your patience!
