erm.. i played this at 3 am.. and.. guulp.. it was s-s-s-scary....

But fr really cool game with top marks in everything but creativity imo. (Creativity is still strong, just the weakest point I think.) What I mean is that the story is a tiny bit generic with sort of predictable endings. But that's the smallest nitpick I could find. Story is still good, art is peak, music is peak, narrative is peak. (I think my nitpick might fit under narrative. Idk. It's 3 am. I'll just say it's creativity.) Enjoyment is definitely peak, this deserveres top 100 for sure. Not much else to say

I like this!! First jam game I've seen so far where the narrative is the strongest part, but that's kind of the point: the gameplay strengthens the point the narrative is trying to make. Art isn't too special, but it knows what it is and doesn't try to be anything that it isn't. Music never gets repetitive too. I was confused why the modifiers made the game easier, and why the modifiers were so weirdly specific, but it made sense in the end. (except for the tall one. that one won't make sense.)

I knew this was gonna be a fire game when I heard you posting those audio files in the discord

Really cool idea! The idea that you have to anticipate your death and plan around it is neat, and adds risk (choosing between playing it safe and throwing an egg in a safe spot, or staying alive to fight). I like when games reuse mechanics in different ways. I think it falls a bit short on execution, not enough dopamine being thrown around and the gameplay loop is kind of shallow, but that's expected of a game jam. Cool game!

Sorry! The tutorials in this game aren't the best, but there is big blue text on the 2nd level that says you can use your mouse to control the candle.

(1 edit)

We came up with the idea first, and then spent a while brainstorming names. We almost went with "You suck!" or "One bite", but then bite mark got brought up, and we were like, "what if the guy you were trying to bite was named mark?". It was too perfect.

Really smart idea and a really perfectly crafted puzzle game! The difficulty always felt perfect, and every level had an "aha!" moment. Good job.

Really creative, I love different uses of the same terrain in games. I also love when all of your skillset and tools are available, and the game only teaches you how or where to use them. Peak (of the mountain).

Colors, art, theming, and gameplay are really nice. Reminds me of that one google game

Really cute art and idea, but I think you could give the player more feedback (or any) when they get something right or wrong. I felt like I was just winging it and hoping i did good, only to get an F.

Really cute game, my only complaint is that it was a little simple/ easy or short. The colors and art are really pretty, and the idea is cool.

PUT IT ALL ON RED!!!!!!!

Cool puzzle game, I haven't seen an idea like this anywhere around this jam so far. It wasn't longer than it needed to be, I think the length was just right (if anything, it could be longer, but i think you would need to add a whole new mechanic to keep it interesting, so you did good with what you had.)

reminds me of blue prince

I was confused at first, but it turned out to be a really fun management game when I figured it out. It wasn't too hard, but it wasn't so easy as just "press the right buttons at the right time". Really cool hand drawn art too.

Thanks! I always like constructive feedback. I regretted not adding the dash tutorial somewhere, but I'd already stayed up until 9 AM at that point so I just put it in the description. I think a lot of the other issues would've been fixed with more time to polish, I didn't manage the time too well for this jam. I'll account for that in later jams.

I think i played with a super secret modifier that flings your camera randomly every few seconds.

I wasn't able to play the game fully because of that bug, but I think I was able to play enough to get what the game is. Definitely one of the more unique and cool concepts, and I haven't seen many 1st person shooters this jam, which I think should be an achievement. It was a little generic, but I think that was intentional to be built on later. It reminds me of superhot or it steals (vaguely for it steals).

Peak game. I've spent too long playing this.

I have run into a few bugs though: 1. I got softlocked in the shop. The gui popped up, but there was no option to leave, and my player kept playing the "move" animation while not moving. 2. I don't actually know if this is a bug or not, but enemies sometimes move to the same square and stack on top of each other.

Overall, my favorite jam game so far. I might like chess.

Art style is so cool and colorful, gameplay is simple but discoving something new to get more points next round feels good too. It was a tiny bit confusing if you weren't reading the instructions or cheat sheet, though.

Some of the best art I've seen in this jam, and a great story. I think it did fall a bit short on gameplay, which kind of just felt like walking around and hoping you find something. The text speed was also a bit slow, which wouldn't be a problem if you could skip it or if it didn't play the same lines over and over. Overall, I think this game has high highs and low lows (more highs than lows), but is still really impressive for being done by one person. Good job. (Website bugged and posted this multiple times, sorry if you got the notifications)

THEY ADDED BABY PARK TO A GAME JAM!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOO!!!

Honest review, i think this is one of the most unique takes on "racing" that I've seen a bit around the jam, even though it is a bit shallow and the controls are hard (I think on purpose), It still has so much personality.

This is the game I've spent the most time on so far, and I still couldn't beat it. I did get softlocked in some rocks and had to restart early on, and i think the take on the theme is pretty generic (just do thing over again), but everything else was peak. Top game for me.

Kinda confusing, and I did die to an enemy spawning on me, but I think that's just a skill issue. Overall better than most jam games I've played. Peak hand drawn art too.
