Thanks for trying the game! Yeah some of the wide open spaces can make it ambiguous which direction to go; perhaps an indicator UI element would be good.
Good question! It appears the default setting for uploading a file you want others to download is to 'hide it and prevent it from being downloaded'. It should show up properly now.
