I watched the stream of the WIP of this a few days ago and remember marveling at the UI - so attentive and responsive - can really appreciate all the QoL details put into this. I love the low-contrast monochrome look! It's so readable and easy on the eyes, so intentional in highlighting what it needs to, and I never got eye fatigue while I was trying to go for all the endings.

This game is SO strong on all fronts: the sheer number of animations and transitions in this is INSANE, the sound design is [chef kiss], the writing, & progression, cinematography, scoring of the cutscenes, & framing of the scenes was so good! I was able to get all the endings in less than an hour.

I also love his disposition...! His characterization is so good, esp with nonverbal details like how abruptly he leaves the room. Something about how matter-of-fact and calm he is makes him even scarier. I enjoyed his dialogue and laughed a lot, and the writing style made me curious to learn more. The first time we got boiled gave me chills! I clicked around frantically like OH NO OH NO WHAT DO I DO (scream). The bgm for it is perfect, I can't tell if I'm hallucinating that it changes a bit in pitch with each successive victim. Also, the macOS mask icon is lovely.

I could write more, but it all Boils down to: Your team is bonkers.  I hope more folks discover this gem!

Ohh thank you for the insight, I definitely see it - I remember the collectivism thread being strong too, like in certain descriptions of the crowd being insect-like(?) as if they were part of a hive, and how palpable MC's grief was adjusting to their new environment. Looking forward to the future release, it's gonna be great!

Really happy to hear how spooky it was for you :) Thank you so much for playing!

Thank you so much for playing and for the kind words! I'm a fan of your team's entry too, it's an honor!

OH MY GOD, THE STICKER SKIN TEAM!? You beat me to commenting on your game - Thank you both so much for playing, and for the kind words! Really made my day. I was definitely fighting for my life all month, haha

This game was so cool! The teal-pink dithered aesthetic is beautiful, and stunning illustrations - so much personality, backgrounds felt kind of somber and melancholic, scratched my brain just right. limited palettes can be tricky I think because there's a risk of sprites disappearing into the backgrounds, I liked the presentation here a lot. &I feel like it was a great pair to the fever-dreamlike tone of the writing. was beautiful in the literary way too, I enjoyed reading many of the descriptions (like 'feathers fletch from foiled sheaths'). and I LOVE Sol's design, I wish I had an extroverted friend like them lol!

one interesting thing that really stood out to me was just how unrelentingly *rich* the worldly descriptions were and how MC's lived experience is so tightly (and fearfully, maybe desperately) embodied in their physical sensory experience because they're afraid to lose themselves. and that this is despite a deep-seated yearning for authentic connection with others and searching for it, and not finding it, and not knowing what it is or what it should feel like, even in a huge crowd full of sticky lovers and warm bodies that are waving something they claim is shaped like it - or even performing what they think it should be shaped like (thinking ab the mask motifs) - in MC's face.  I think a lot of people would resonate with the themes of alienation and belonging here, and how much MC struggles to connect to both themselves and others, how they cling to the safety of what is familiar and yet ultimately unfulfilling because the devil they know looks better than the devil they don't.

also. when I first saw good ole mr tower I was like 'oh hell no lmao GO BACK GO BACK' and tried the other options hoping for different cards, LOL, but then I was like 'damn that's a perfect choice tho', same with the others. hell yeah!

loved this. storm of talent, really unique game. 10/10 would get overstimmied at the sad apocalyptic queer rave again

one very minor note, and this might be intentional - I imagine it was intentional with the text speed - the preference sliders seem to be locked on the macOS version, I couldn't adjust the auto-fwd time or any of the volume sliders. just fyi

this was a delight to play. I love Leanna so much!!! outstanding characterization - the designs are so vibrant and full of personality. (Leanna’s hair makes me think of a luna moth, subtle and not sure if that was intentional but her design is a winner to me) and all the little subtle changes in expressions and text speeds to match beats, especially the comedic ones-of which there were many- went such a long way for me. I’m reading that Leanna apparently had 36(?) total sprites - mind-boggling! this is another small detail but I really liked how puppet’s floaty faces were all scans from lined paper

(*contains spoilers*)

your writing style is whimsical and hilarious, I laughed so many times. I don’t think I could point them all out without making an essay of a comment, but I especially loved the ‘no deal’ decision tree right at the start, and smaller bits like the “AHM-”s and the “quit it you two”, “is that a no?”, “most lonesome insect”, “that’s what I thought”, “oh spawn” gags. I feel like the character dynamics were established quickly early on and they are consistent, I had a well-defined sense of who they were and I’m curious to know more about puppet (and also what MC is searching for!) at the end. I enjoyed the environmental storytelling too (like “roots on the ceiling”)!

please make a macOS version for the future release! I want a local copy :-)
