Very similar to my own response - I was high while reading this vn and it like made my brain have an actual "zap" (in a bad way). I think the writers did intend for this to be a shock for us, its a narrative tool used to underline in several times that "these characters are fucked in the head beyond redemption". Paraphilias, unfortunately, become more common in spaces with a lot of traumatised people - these are some of the darkest spaces in real life, with the most hurt involved. I don't think such topics should be excluded from stories just because they are not moral.
