Well done! I really liked the story, and the visual effects were a great touch (even if a little overpowering). One thing I feel could be improved is the ambience and sound design, as it does feel a bit quiet. Otherwise, really nice job!

Really nice work! I love the little cutscene at the beginning, and the thunder/lightning effects do a lot for the atmosphere. Some adjustments I would recommend is to add a visual for your stamina, and make it so that the keys are persistent so you can't softlock yourself after the checkpoint. Overall, really solid!

I'm super glad that the atmosphere I was aiming for landed, I did want to capture some of the eeriness of the Backrooms in there! I did notice that a number of other players also had issues with navigation, so I'll be improving on that after the jam. I'll be sure to give your game a look as well - thanks for playing!

Appreciate you playing my game! I'm gonna go back in and fix a ton of those issues, so thanks for pointing them out. Before that I'll be sure to check your game out as well  :)

Thanks so much for playing, I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I'll be updating the game in the near future with your feedback in mind - I'll get around to adding a compass and some signs, as well as address the collider issues across the map and the dialogue bug.

Yep, the layout building is pretty much a maze haha - thanks for playing!

Thank you for playing!

Yeah, navigability and objective clarity are definitely some of the bigger issues I discovered too late into the process of making the game. My original plans for a sprawling map with trap mechanics and navigation tools was way out of scope, even for a 14-day jam.  I ended up cutting a lot of features in the final submission, but I also came to realize that the game was lacking in even explaining what the player is supposed to do. I'm planning on brushing up on these weaknesses in the near future (and furnish the place with a little more than chairs and tables...)

Thanks for the feedback!

Yep! Though, I took some creative liberties with the layout instead of trying to be 100% historically accurate.

This is amazing! I like how you included a lot of the finer details about his history, such as with the life insurance fraud and his killing methods involving chloroform, suffocation, etc. Very polished game - wish I could have made my own game as true to the story as you did.

I'm not gonna lie, this is actually a life-saver... I quit out just before the deadline because I couldn't fix my build issues, but now I have another chance. Thanks!

I would assume that it's not against the rules. They say "No AI-Generated Content", so as long as you're using it for your own educational purposes and not to make your game's story, assets, code, etc. then you should probably be fine.
